My Custom Emulator Window
« on: March 30, 2008, 01:02:00 PM »

Thought this might be of interest in this emulators section as well as the skinning section:

Anyways, I was customizing the xtv skin for my liking, using only my favorite views, and adding custom icons and buttons for functionality etc. And came up with an emulators info idea.  The original thread is HERE. So far I only have it completed for The snes and n64.. as far as the icons go, it shouldn't be hard to find good material for all of the other console systems, it's the arcades that I'm worried I won't be able to find anything good... Any ideas?

Here are some pics. sorry for the large pics, they are compressed though.... oh and the text scrolls of course.

A good source for console images and logos is John Crouse's website.
Here is a link to the graphics download section.
http://www.emuchrist...er/graphics.htm

That is the source for most of the consoles and logos in my emulator wide icons.

Just remove the layer styles and then copy the console image layer from his psd to a new image.
Hope it helps

That all looks pretty sweet man.  I haven't messed around much at all with how the emus look outside of the emulator themselves, but I hope to make my rig look as nice as yours when I get the innards of the emus working the way that I want.

Thanks man, Ya I've been following your mame venture. Good ideas you got there, Less applicable to me though. I have Aracades and the roms that came with, I lost my complete rom set a while ago. But wouldn't play the older games much anyhow. Even still I think your ideas are solid. As I remember well, having so many unworking and duplicate roms in my 'complete' mame set...

Looks great!  I always thought an information panel would also be good for viewing the Xbox games themselves, but use a scan of the actual back of the game box.
