Bad Tsop Flash V1.1, Wrong Retail Bios
« on: September 22, 2003, 03:06:00 PM »

I flashed the tsop of my V1.1 xbox with a multibios.. only the X2-4977 bios worked so i tried another retail bios. Also thsi didn't work.. blablabla.

problem is that with the last flash (i used the xbox.bin bios in the 007) i forgot to disconnect the wires that support booting the multibios (vcc, ground and A19). This means that only the first 512 Kb of the tsop was flashed. Not a big problem.. only, it's flashed with the wrong retail bios.

So, only way to boot the xbox is with my matrix chip (note: the chip isn't mine, so i'll have to flash). I can't use the 007 hack because it needs a fresh start from a retail bios.

Is there any way to recover the tsop

i think fro a 1.1 you need to solder a 29 wire mod to recover, im not sure if the matrix fix will work on a 1.1

hhmz.. i never tried that. i know that the EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip will not work on a v1.1.  i' ll come back to you later to see if it worked.

Providing that you have not touched the TOP portion of the bios you can still boot from this.
Try putting A19 to VCC and then boot.
Set yourself up to flash, then Cut the A19 >> VCC wire just before the actual flash.

connecting A19 to vcc didn't work so i think the top of the bios doesn't work neither. For some reasons i think that's strange.. i flashed the chip the last time with a multibios (original+orgininal+X24977+X24977) With the new flash only the first half of the tsop is beingh flashed with the wrong retail bios. So the top of the bios should contain the X24977 bios...........

I also tried the matrix hack  (EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip) with the multiversion bios evox D6. The only device i can flash is the matrix itself. The xbox does boot up.. but i also don't get a orange/green light when i put the matrix (with evox D6) in mode 4 without T1 to ground. So this doesn't work..

Hmm.. are there anymore solutions that might work.. is there a EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip for the V1.1?? Or will something else repare my tsop.

no, not if you had a19 on ground or vcc.  half would be flashed twice.

it is the "tsop d6.bin" that comes with the evox_build_3921 distro.  This may be what you used, sorry.

I just used the M7 bios but also here no results. The only device the xbox can flash is the matrix chip.

i just read that the the matrix hack only can be done if the onboard bios is intact and is bootable. Well.... i think that was it concerning my xbox. I guess i'll have to wait till the EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip  for V1.1 is coming out.

i did try it. Smokeingit does fix the tsop with the matrix and the EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip. But this bios only works on V1.0. So now they released tsop d6.bin that can be used for the V1.1... only the tsop d6.bin require that the xbox is bootable. And my xbox only boots with the matrix.. so i don't have access to the tsop. Maybe i'm seeing things wrong.... but i don't think i can do something at the moment. I guess i'll have to wait till there is a bios that  works the same like EvoX_MatriX_TSOP_flash.zip only then for V1.1
