It was only released in Europe for english audiences... so it's in the E format (the rom). When I try to boot this game it just freezes my xbox...

Has anybody gotten it to work?

How big is the rom? The only Legend of Zelda Master Quest I know of was with gamecube and you got it when you preordered the Windwaker I think. There is also the promo disc for gamecube that has the two for nes, then the two for 64. The Master Quest one is just Ocarina of time with different dungeon layouts and tougher enemies, etc. You might have a rom for the gamecube. Also that might be a hacked version of OoT to change it to Masters quest but I haven't heard of that.

It was developed for a little known add-on for the N64, but I don't think it was ever released for that system. The GameCube version is quite literally a ROM and emulator (hackers managed to shanghai this to run other games as well, though it doesn't seem much different from some of the other emulators out there).

So it's an official N64 game that was never actually released on an N64 cart.

Runs just fine for me through Surreal, though... A little while back I even noticed someone recommend some optimal Zelda settings, so I copied them down:

well there you go, it actually is a 64 game lol. Now I'm going to have to find that rom so I can play it without a gamecube.

Hm..... Did you do anything special to make that work? Get a european bios file or anything? Name the file anything special? It doesn't load for me at all......

Hey, well I figured out the problem. I read in one of the files that it needs to be named "ZELDA MASTER QUEST" to work.

I did that and used your settings and the game booted.

Unfortunately the sound is really messed up..... are you sure this is the best the settings can get?

Never tested them myself.

Play with the audio settings and see what happens.
