On this emulator, the Mortal Kombat games run very choppy, why is this?

This build of Mame uses the newer Midway drivers that fix the sound problems that plagued the MK roms (and other midway games)
however the newer drivers are very accurate and rely on perfect emulation instead of the speed hacks that were used in the earlier drivers.

this makes Midway sound emulation very CPU intensive, thus slow emulation on the xbox with its 733mhz cpu.

either shut off sound emulation in the emulator or use an older version of mame like Mame-X B6. (which can be found on xbins)

Then you should be able to play the games at the correct speed, though with sound hiccups if you go with mame-x.

yap, fluid arcade MKs with perfect sound will remain a dream on xbox. Try the UMK3 hack with neogenesis to get your mk-fix on your xbox ^^

What about Trustys CPU upgrade to 1GHZ,256K Cache would this not help Mortal Kombat games run almost full speed?

Can anyone test MK2 or NBA JAM for me with CPU upgrade?

Just I'm thinking of getting this upgrade just for MAME. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks
