Ok, so I haven't had a problem with cheats on the other emulators.

As far as I can tell, Neogenesis should work with Game Genie and RAW or HEX converted codes (It claims to handle Pro Action Replay, but I don't see how).

I found codes here:

Downloaded a code converter (GG to RAW) GGCC 4.0 here:

Downloaded a DOS rom converter here (can't figure out how it works, I'm always wrong syntax):

Tried to do this:
1. run cmd in run
2. type cd to change directory to the directory with the Supconv.exe
3. type Supconv ?
4. Try to figure this part out (I am always getting syntax error even though it looks right)

Not sure if I should install the rom converter here:

It seems when putting in RAW codes, the first four digits are always 3000 and should be ignored.

Please help me here by telling me how to get the DOS rom converter to work or tell me if it is safe to install the other rom converter program.

The problem might be that these codes are for the US version only and I am using a JE (I assume Japan and Europe) version. Which is why I am trying to convert a US version ((U) [!]) BIN file to SMD.

Nevermind, I finally got the syntax right.

Supconv BS SOR3.bin SOR3.smd

I am good now!

But I still don't see how to use PAR codes with Neogenesis unless I convert them to RAW or HEX and I don't see any tools that can do that for me ;(

I tried to enter a PAR code as Hex to convert into GG, the code gave me 0 health instead of infinite.

If anyone has a PAR code converter to HEX or GG for Sega Genesis, please hook me up with it.

Also its weird, if I put the codes on, the game will boot to a red screen. So I just pull up a prior savestate and the codes work fine.

I might get bored and use the cheat search to track down the health code and see how it compares to the PAR one.

How do you use PAR codes to work with Neogenesis?

Where did you find the GG code that takes care of the red screen?

The cheat search code was 3000DF6T 0032 (i think 35 was a full health bar and 32 was close to full)
The action replay code was FFDF6C0032


So replace the first 2 characters in the PAR codes with 3000 and you should be able to use the codes.
The last 4 digits of the AR and cheat search codes are the value. If it's a 16 bit value like 041C instead of an 8 bit value like 004C, you need to change 3000 to 8000

I couldn't find out what the First 2 characters in the PAR codes meant. It's probably PAR specific and not needed for the emulator.


Some games, either by design, or by coincidence act up when you use a Game Genie.
A "master code" was used to bypass that.
ATBT-AA6A was usually that code.
