Which Dir For Raincoat Config?
« on: September 18, 2003, 01:47:00 AM »

Hi

I succesfully flashed TSOP other day using raincoat 0.501.
Anyway when I went to flash it (winbound) it said summat along the lines of `unable to open config file using default list instead). Any way it flashed ok.
All i done was copy the new .501 raincoat into the evox raincoat package overwriting the origional. Ive since read that the config file has to be in a different folder when using raincoat .501. quote

slight change, this version looks for ./raincoat.conf, not /etc/raincoat.conf,
should allow greater flexibility under 007:AUF Linux!

I dont mean to sound thick or out, but which folder is this exactly within the raincoat package? And do i just copy the .conf file there instead?

Thanks

./raincoat.conf means raincoat.conf in the current directory.

before raincoat would error saying it could not find a valid config file at /etc/raincoat.conf, which it couldnt as with the 007 exploit the etc dir is only virtual.

basically they just suppressed the error message. leave the conf in the same folder as the executable as always
