Hello everyone,
I'm nearing completetion of my list and I wanted to post it here so far to see what it looks like. I have some more work to do on it though and I still have to group the roms and make a datfile. The spreadsheet itself looks much better of course, but you should probably be able to get an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish.
For the list of roms that I want to add, I already spread them out into categories. Many of the roms use categories previously existing in MAMEdox Arcades. I also added 4 new proposed categories:
1. Pinball Games - For the 5 or so working pinball games for MAME.
2. Classic Games - These are the real gems that were missed before. Crystal Castles and Mappy, to name a few.
3. Retro Games - Games of varying enjoyment, mostly from the early 80's.
4. Ancient Games - What perfect Arcade emulator would be complete without a smaller category dedicated to the games which started them all? (Many games here are from the 70's and probably half don't have any soun)
Below I have every rom for MAME listed out. Here's the directory structure for how it's set up now:
I. GOOD ROMS
A. Every rom indluded in MAMEdox Arcades
B. Duplicate roms in MAMEdox Arcades. Safe to remove because the clone/alternate is the better rom.
C. Every good rom that I will be asking to be included in MAMEdox Arcade (Listed in order of category)
II. ROMS WHICH SHOULD BE EXCHANGED IN PLACE OF EXISTING ROMS ON MAMEdox ARCADES (My own personal opinion on that.
III. BAD ROMS
A. Misc. Roms that I still need to categorize by not working status (UNDER CONSTRUCTION)
B. Control issues. Possibly could be fixed by remapping.
C. Memory issues. Some of these may be able to be fixed, because some roms that had memory issues in MAMEox128 Plus work in MAMEdox Arcades.
D. Gun games.
E. Games that freeze the XBox or load to a blank screen.
F. Games which require a .CHD file to play.
IV. OTHER ROMS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DATFILE:
A. Clones of games included in MAMEdox Arcades.
B. Clones of all other games.
C. Untested games (Mostly Mahjong & Playchoice 10).
D. Girl/Porn Games.
E. Other Foreign games that have been tested to work but I didn't feel should be added.
