In a previous post you mentioned that they were about 10 games that you still use MameOx for... just wondering what those were if you don't mind me asking. I like how your brain thinks so I'm a little curious as to what they are.
I don't quite recall when I said that or at which step of the process I said that. Chances are whatever I had meant by that isn't even relevant anymore at this point. At the immediate moment though I can think of games that would probably be better played in MAMEox128 Plus! though. Darius I, Darius II, Lode Runner (the 90's version) and Ninja Warrior seemed to have multiple monitors in the arcade. MAMEox128 seems to render these fine so they play full screen like any other game. Arcades used a different core and nobody still in the scene seems to have the expertise to fix the problems associated with the multi-monitor games. For example, if you load up Darius I in arcades on my 51" TV the game is only about 4" to 6" tall but spans the entire width of the screen.
Also, light gun games will not be officially supported in Arcades and I probably won't even add them to my own datfiles. According to BP they are rather buggy in the core used in Arcades and would play better in MAMEox128. No big deal to me there. They are impossible to play with a joystick and I don't ever plan on getting the gun because it wouldn't work on my projection screen TV anyways.

Any chance you could help me remap the buttons for Super Off Road?
The left and right trigger buttons are used for both gas and steering and it's terribly awkward. I was hoping that perhaps you could figure out a better and more intuitive design for this great Arcade game. It's kind of tough for me to do so since I'm not finding any documentation on how to specifically remap the keys.
I noticed this too and it is one of my requests for controller mapping fixes. There are quite a few racing games where the left turn and gas are both mapped to the L button by default. This isn't a quick fix than any of us can do. It requires actually altering the internal code of the MAMEox.xbe (I'm 99% sure of that anyways). Perhaps I'll learn how to do these things too, but at this point I don't know how to do it myself. I can pretty much guarantee either way you can look forward to this game and about 30-40 other games at least being remapped in the future.
Great game.

I'm surprised that you said Puzzle De Bowling was running painfully slow on your end, I've had no problems at all running it through MameOx and is one of my wife's favorites.
Actually, I just said plays way too slow. I reserve the painfully slow for games like Hard Drivin'.
A lot of the "Plays way too slow" and other comments I've made were pretty generic and I used the auto fill in excell because after doing thousands of these you start getting to that point where you don't write out a lengthy description and just want something there explainnig breifly what the problem was. Perhaps when I played it it was just that the sound skipped a bit or the voices did. I really tested these games with BP's opinion in mind because I figured if I gave him a bunch of games that had skipping music that he wouldn't even bother working with me. He only allows games that work perfectly in his emu. I believe that this one works perfectly fine in Arcades as far a sound and speed go. My only problem with it there is that the analog stick is really a pain in the butt to use and would need to be remapped to the Dpad to be enjoyable. Should play perfect on Arcades once it's remapped.

Also, you weren't able to get Super Dodge Ball (1996) to work correctly?
Super Dodge Ball video
Oh man, that was the only Arcade I used to play every night while working as a night auditor at the Hilton. That game was a terrific blast!
Yeah. That one is marked as working correctly. BP didn't have it in Arcades because he already had the updated Neo Geo one, but I've suggested adding it because it is a great game. I didn't even know it was an arcade actually. I had it for NES when I was a kid and it was one of my favorite games. Loved them little weird looking River City Ransom lookin' dudes. If he doesn't add it to his official build, have no worries cause it will be in my expansion datfile.

Finally, you said that Cyberball didn't work as well either? My memory could be a little fuzzy on this, but I remember playing it quite often in Cincinnati after a rough day at college. I think this came out just before the Madden series for Super Nes and the Genesis so it was one of my favorites. However, I'm sure if I saw the game now, it probably blows chunks.
The game plays, and it really isn't that bad actually. Chances are you did play it. Again, I was pretty rough grading these games and if there were really any skips in the music or voice or sound I removed them because I didn't want to come to BP with a list that included 100 games that almost played perfect. I do plan on running through games that didn't work on Plus and try them in Arcades. I've already done this somewhat and found quite a few that work without problems in Arcades.
And yeah.... It pretty much blows now

I never played it before so the sentimentality doesn't factor in my decision though.

When I was a kid, I remember playing Front Line all the time at Chucky Cheese Pizza. To me it was so real back in the day, I actually thought I was storming the beaches of Normandy. Well, I took a little revisit to that game yesterday and it looked like Colecovision. It's amazing how stupid we were back then, huh?
I never played Front Line before, but I looked it up and yeah, it's about one step above Colecovision. I was quite addicted to Frenzy as a kid, so I know how it is. We weren't dumb. We just didn't know any better. Now.... is it dumb that given a choice I'd probably rather play Frenzy on most days than my brother's Halo 3?
