I have not been able to find a definite answer anywhere so if someone could please help I would appreciate it.  When we FTP our ROMs to their respective Emulator folder, do they have to be exacted when they are in a RAR or ZIP file, or will the xbox read them in a compressed state as well?

.zip will work in most, if not all of them, but not .rar or .7z

Personally I leave all my roms zipped as that saves a lot of space.  As irishwhip pointed out you cant leave them as .rar or .7z but .zip files will work just fine.  If you have .rar or .7z files you should extract those and recompress them as. zip files.

OK thanks, that's exactly what I have.  I seem to be having a hard time figuring out how to re-zip them individually.  I've only been able to zip my 1000+ as one big zip file.  I certainly don't want to do them one by one.  Any winzip guru's out there?
