Ive got mamedox 1.1 but most of the roms ive downloaded wont work, they mostly say theyre missing files. Also 3 of the roms wont even show in the list these are ridge racer 1&2 and daytona usa.
Out of the 40 or so roms ive downloaded only 5 have worked, so whats wrong ?

em first of all daytona dosent work in mamedox not enough memory plus xbox dosent have the horsepower to emulate that.you need a very powerful pc to emulate that rom.
dont waste your time with ridge racer1 and2 any 3d game runs far to slow on mame for xbox like i said not enough ram.i have emulated tekken 1 and2 in the past but way to slow stick with 2d games there are plenty of good ones out there.
the 40 roms problem ypu will probably have to look for other versions of the roms.
what to do is go to file explorer in unleashx and see if there is a supported games text.in your mamedox files.
it should also tell you the names of the roms on there as well because there are different versions of roms out there.
also post some of the names of the other roms you downloaded.

Hi mate, cant find any supported games text, as for some of the games that wouldnt work - killer instinct 1&2, capt america, marvel heroes, after burner, jackie chan, galaga 3, world championship soccer, ring king, sorry cant remember anymore cus ive been deleting them as i go.

I expected to get some that didnt work just not this many, thanks.

i think its possible that the versions of roms you have are not compatible with mamedox.
have you tried rescanning your roms.when you oush start there should be an option to rescan roms try that.
and if that dosent work ive got those roms youve mentioned and ill have a look at the roms i have on mamedox and i will post the names of the roms should be just a case of finding the correct one!

i forgot to mention litclicker(dubious name (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )
you should maybe try downloading mameox 128plus 20060505!
as that comes with a supported games text.
also most people on these forums tend to agree that it is the best version of mame for xbox!
i have both versions mamedox ismore user friendly but mameox i think has better game support!

Hi mate, dont know what your mean about my name, ha ha.

Ive tryed rescanning but theyre still not working.
Ive also tryed downloading some of the games again from differant places but they also didnt work.
Ill see if i can find 128plus and give that a try.  Is it always this hit and miss with roms working ?

no not eally its just that with different versions of mame for xbox certain roms are compatible because roms get updated all the time.
mameox1228 plus has a supported games text.
killer instinct 1 and 2 dosent work with mamedox you need kixxx1.0 for those roms.
some people think newer 2d games dont work on mame for xbox they think they need the 128mb ram upgrade but they do work just an example of roms you can use ie newer ones.
marvelvs capcom all the vs capcom games
progear came out 2001 a great side scrolling shooter.
all neo geo games work really well.
the games you mentioned all work fine except killer instinct and 3d games so good luck!

hi xy, well ive had a look around and cant seem to find mameox 128plus 20060505 anywhere to download.
So i tryed downloading a few more roms going for the smaller file sizes and games that i thought werent 3d,
i got the following - mortal kombat 1,2&3 , eswat, capt america & the avengers (again) , s.f. the movie, punchout, batman 2, and out of this lot only mortal kombat 1 worked. Ive also had alook around and to see if i could find a compatability list for mamedox but no luck there either.

Anymore sugestions ?

Googles not playing nice today, ive tryed and tryed, if i give you my email could you send me the info ? If not no probs.

I wouldnt mind sticking with mamedox 1.1, if only half the roms i got worked but the way its going i just feel like im wasting my time.
