You have to have a compatible controller in port one.  You may have fudged your config if you do and f1 is not longer in on the analog stick at it should be.  Here is a link to my working setup.  Made for drag and drop onto e

hi sean i downloaded your xmugen version and burned it to dvd,as i was going to use dvd2xbox to burn the files on the hardrive.but xbox isnt reading the disc i burned it at 4x so dont think its a burnig issue is ftp the only way of putting xmugen files on the hardrive or can you use the dvd2xbox method.
thanks.

Hey sorry it took me awile to get back to you.  You can allways hit me up on gmail [email protected] or aol seanp2500 basically yes xmugen can be burned to a dvd.  In fact that setup would be ideal.  Thing is you need a bat to create the image.  Just stuffing the directories won't work (at least it never did for me)  problem is I no longer have this application.  It was given to me by risky and used to be hosted on the xmugen site. But sadly that pc crashed on me and the site is no longer.  But honestly after expirementing with xmugen dvd's I really didn't approve of the occassionally lag they create.  So kinda like waste of time thing anyway.  More like a novelty.  Oh look cool it runs off disc etc...I made this setup to work on any xbox's empty e drive.  I did this for a reason.  Not everyone has f.  Also it just seems to run better since xbox caches on e stock with the way partition is setup.  Only thing is you gotta make sure e has like 4.2gb remaining cuz the games folder will need to make a 1gb swap that rests on e.  I have had several people report success.  basically make sure e is empty ftp the games folder to root and click the xbe in the xmugen folder and you are golden.  Hope this helps!

Wow that leaves 800MB for saves max. That means people have to be careful about how many saves they have. In addition to that, forget about ripped WMAs that go to E - they'd have to be moved off or migrated to F. Isn't max partitioning for E 5GB on a standard slayers rebuild? I know you can modify the E to be larger but will it screw with Mugen? I find F Mugen installs refuse to work if it's a non-standard partition created/split by xbpartitioner.

You were mentioning cache in another post. By cache, do you mean the swap file or is it something else? I have an F Mugen setup and have your E Mugen build. I'm thinking of just migrating all your stuff over, but like you were mentioning, E seems to be faster. Even though I have an F setup, does it still use E for something? I know my F setup uses F swap.

good questions robo chicken.  I have thought of all of this.  Basically I gave the xmugen user more data then they needed.  Like once you boot that setup I uploaded you will notice that I not only filled up the char slots but kept going.  this was purposeful.  I realized that some people would choose certain chars over others I may choose personally.  So there is alot of space one can still trim. I know people love their saves but as for myself If I were forced to I would just back up those folders to f.  Then copy back when needed. Once that setup is installed.  Truth be told.  You can have an incredibly fun mugen with only 100 chars so the user you described has a ton of space they can free up by simply deleting chars they don't like.  But yes I was basically saying if you only have e this is only a mugen xbox now as far as hd.  Forcing those people to run off of discs.  But considering most emulators can be burned to disc and media center reads many different formats off of disc I figured it would be ok.

Also never forget the user can allways free up a whole 1gb by deleting the swap file.  Then when they go back to playing xmugen it will simply recreate it.  It doesn't even take very long to do that.

I tried with no success to increase E partition.  I think it is possible.  Why not.  I just don't know how.  but mind you I tried very very hard.  Since increasing E partition is not currently necessary for the size of the game I would suggest against it.  Simply migrate data to F or to disc is what me and friends/aquantinces have been doing.

If you look on the xbox stock e it has a folder called cache.  XMugen and certain xbox games seem to use this (off hand halo is one I can think of. )  This is seperate from the 1gb swap file which also rests on e inside the swapfile folder.   this is also seperate from the other stock cache partitions (x, z, etc...)

You are also right about the partitioning hijinx.  This was another reason E was chosen.  Due to some user's fudged up hd upgrades I  came across.  Since performance is better on E.  and since not everyone either has f or f properly partitioned I chose to make it for E.  Also in terms of quality/upload download speed that seemed to me like the limit of space nwayz.

What's been going on seanp, thanks for sending me the link to your mugen game, I have played with a bunch of cool characters that I probably never would have if you hadn't sent me the link. All the stages look real good are some of them Hi Res Mugen stages or can Hi Res even run on xmugen? Also is their a way I can continue because I lose often those characters are tough?

ha ha.  Np boss.  You are a good friend.  Good to hear you got it up and running.  Mayhaps you can help others?

As for your questions:

Continue disabled because :a.  We believe it is important that you not break the fighter's rhythm.  If you loose then you loose.  It is meant for a one time run through.  Mind you team arcade has an order.  So does arcade.  So It's definitely worth honing your skills to make it through.
b.  One would have to assign a stage to each char or name a favorite stage random.def and assign each random char to it.  Only with every char assigned a stage will xmugen not crash if continue is enabled.  Main reason was above though.

Yes some stages are actually hi ries!  but oddly most hi res stages are too large for the linmugen stage cam.  It's wierd  Believe it or not.  The whole setup is set at double res = 4 as well.

I am sorry about the tough ai.  It's how we like it.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks seanp, as far as helping people maybe we could start another xmugen site since nugnug is down. If you can beat every character in that game without continuing you would have to be God biggrin.gif
This is a fun game I like it better than my games, I could never get Hi Res stages to work. I like how you have music for all the stages too I would suggest this game to anyone.

Um actually I had intended to release a full run we recorded.  Showing the game beat start to finish.  I ran out of time/forget to upload it with the game.  We are beasts!!  This game was beaten by it's creators.  Don't get it twisted.  Believe it or not.  Quite reguarly for one of us....Using Zvil.  It is why he was created....

I really want to start an xmugen site but I think we are better off with a section on a popular forum.  I think infantry even already has an xmugen section.  But I am down to do whatever.  As you can tell.

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Ah man that's cool send me that video I have to show my brother that because he believes it is impossible. Right now I am using Shin Gouki I get pretty far but get beat by someone down the line. I am still trying to figure out how to beat Motaro and Omega Goenitz. I used Pots Rare Gouki and seen that you have both God Orochi's as bosses and Orochi Chris. Zvil can beat all those dudes, I seen him and Zye on there those are you guys characters? No problem on the feedback the game is tight and fun as hell, please send me that video. PS how do you beat some of those cute little anime girls, some I figured out but others are hard to predict and Dark Chunli, Neo Dark Chunli and Shadow Lady man their crazy. If someone asks for help with xmugen it's cool to send them the link to your game right?

As crazy as it sounds I want the game made available to any xbox user.   It's important to me that anyone with a modded xbox who is even a tad interested be put on to this setup.  I noticed for alot of people they would have all sorts of issues configuring xmugen.  It would turn them off to it.  I don't care if I get labled as a wharehouser.  I am really not.  Just trying to help xmugen live on by being played since it has brought me and friends so much happiness!

I also was going to ask if anyone would please upload a torrent to sky (my firewall at ibm won't let me oddly...)  so this setup can reach even more XBOX users!

I think you meant Zvil can beat all those dudes? as a question?  Yes.  Yes he can. I have seen Joe beat each char with Zvil (of course not pacifier or Gadon or omega tom hanks they just don't count...lol).  Many videos are hosted on my youtube channel. I prefer shizmaru when it comes to what I call Giant killing lol.  I like to play with Dark Arcureid to have fun.  But I still catch wreck lol.

Omega Geonitz is ridiculous!!  So is shadow lady!

Many chars were edited by us.  Zvil and Zye and Heaven Hood and the Lauren there.  Also the 18 and Yumeji are also much edited.  Many people are actually.  So it was alot of our blood sweat and tears.   Joe actually has no pc of his own.  His idea was a char with insane power level that actually also powers up his opponent ....He manually created/edited Zvil using an XBOX controller and Unleash X.....

The beating of our Xmugen was actually a series of videos we did.  It was such a long run through.  We just recorded each match.  I believe I still have the whole run through but yeah it is something we do quite reguarly.  Normally Joe won't play with Zvil anymore but he still gets very very far through.  One of his biggest challenges?  Dark Athena.  If it's like oh Sean your lying I don't believe you thing lol no worries I will upload it to my channel.  The original idea was to include with the game with a readme from us but I kinda did the the upload on some quick sneaky man stuff.  I had to ditch that idea....

Hey Seanp do you remember how to add screenpacks to A Murder of the Crows xmugen setup? I wanted to add your Brokenmugen game to that setup. I was trying to figure out how to configure it like launch files, mugenboot, etc.
