I think you are completely missing the point. If CPX3 was tweaked and optimized to run on the 733Mhz / 64MB Ram based Xbox's then the tweaks would pretty much be universal to all Xbox's
Why should ElSemi cater to a minority of those of 128MB Xbox's when getting optimization done on a the standard less powerful units to achieve perfect speed would make it all the easier to achieve the same speed on hardware altered Xbox's with 128MB of Ram.
Let me take it at a different angle.
Lets say for example you have a business to sell games....and 500,000 consumers have Console version A, while only 5,000 consumers have Console version B.
Tell me which consumer base is going to be far more accessible to please, garner better business and make more sales? I think the answer is quite obvious.
And on a last note....That Hitler Comment of yours was very hypocritical. Hitler wanted tightly controlled minority environment to his ideal view.
If something runs on the standard Xbox, obviously it's going to run on a 128MB Xbox because has more memory to allocate.
The same for developing software on a PC...if you make something to work on a slower end hardware, then something that goes beyond that low end requirement should run it also.
So to the end of this...Optimization on standard 733Mhz / 64MB Xbox's will also benefit the 128MB Ram Xbox's as well.
Sir you are right.... Optimizing for a 733mhz/64mb Xbox will help ALL other modified users. SO if you have a 733mhz/128 or a 1.0ghz/64 or a 1.0ghz/128 or a 1.4ghz/128 - then all other users will get a great result as long as the result is great on the 733mhz/64.
Second - there are ALOT (not a minority) of people who have 128 meg of ram here at xbox - scene. Outside of X-S and a few other Emulation Forums - CPS3/CPX3 emulaton is only for the minorty. While alot of users overall into PC emulaton ignore the Xbox - people at Xbox-scene are excited by Xbox emulation. Most Homebrew/Emu users are the Minorty here, which makes them the Majority. I would say that for Every X-s member who uses homebrew/emulaton on their xbox 35-55% have 128 meg of ram. Im not looking for statistics here - but if it no trouble and there is a given benifit to addion options for those 128 meg of ram users - then by all means hear our cries.
Now I know CPX3 uses a swap file as 64 meg of ram (which is used by OS/ Emulator and more - does not leave alot of Ram for the Rom to load into. I think though that if you have 128 meg of ram - Some roms can be lloaded Directly into ram with no need for a swap file. With no swap file you might be able to enhance the emulator to be more efficent as it does not have to work with a swap file and can access the information of the rom on the fly as it is stored in memory.
Again - Im just a user - I think that this is great work. IM sure ELsemi and others are not even looking at X-S so I would say most comments and suggestions will fall upon def ears.
I think that emulation in general on the Xbox has had a great run and I think there are still some legs left as this emu has shown... As a user with access to better hardware - Im just voicing my hopes and dreams - I knew that they fall upon deaf ears - but I don't need to be flamed by haters because my wish list is unattanable to them if the wish was ever granted. I think the common goal is the same - Better emulation for a more pure experience. IF the Stable user base gets a great product then power users will enjoy it as much if not more...
Though as a SUPER MINORTY 1.4ghz/128mb user - I still have one bug that the authors will never address though as a user I feel it is responcible to voice it - Running at 1.4 ghz kills the sound - one must load the rom at 740mhz then flip it over to 1.4 to attain full speed and keep sound.
As for the Hilter comment - wasn't ment to be taken litterally - Mabe the Name is a bit hasrh - I retract the one ward - but I still don;t think it is right for anyone to tell the masses to ignore the minorty as we are the plague or something. Sometimes the Minorty gets to enjoy special benifits - Perhaps that will be the case here in the future.
