okay so im a little hurt here glitch says my icons are fuggly though i cant see why

You're icons are blurry and stretched out looking. I know its hard, but you might want to try to find media that is natively closer to the size that your using for your icons. It is never good to stretch or resize things that much when it comes to making icons. And they're all kind of choppy and rough looking around the edges, you can see it plainly in the first icon.

yeah ill find better sources to work from but is there nothing you like about them i think the cpx logo i made is rather clever and except for the first they retain there aspect ratio almost identical to the source
what is it am i not in the "club" or whatever. i really have improved since i started making icons and i havent anything to say about some art stuff ive seen. really im trying to support xbscene in anyway i can. all the other wide icons on this site pertaining to video games all have the same look which isnt a bad thing i just got bored with black wash fade ins under the logo to image. how bout some positive feedback? i mean its not like i spent hours photo shopping each one....lol and if you belive that then you obviously dont know sarcasm

Alright, I'm confused.  Every time I start up CPX3, I get a black screen, just like reported elsewhere in this thread.

Now, before you jump all over me about what's already been said, I've already done everything.  My Xbox dashboard is set to 4:3, I'm using regular composite cables connected to a Samsung widescreen TV, set to display the Xbox in 4:3, and I've tried launching CPX3 in NTSC-M, NTSC-J, hell, even PAL-60.  Black screen every time.

Anyone got any ideas?  Thanks, guys.

maybe try launching it from another partition or try hooking up to another television. it runs well on my 1.6b xbox the only hang up i had was freezing before i rebuilt my zip files. new generation runs smooth its very nice.
OH   i know what it might be   yeah the emu utself uses a swap file for virtual memory not the x y or z cache partitions but a swap created on the drive your running it from. so if your running it from your F:\emulators and the partition is low on space try making sure you have at least on gig. the drive i run from has 3 gigs free.my other two have 1.1 and 2.7 i try to have at least 1 gig free on all my partitions to cut back on errors

Oh shit guys I figured it out. (I was using Mac OS X's command line ftp, and it accidentally copied the entire GUI folder as ASCII instead of binary.) But it's working now, and I have 3rd Strike running on a 42" LCD.  It's.. one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

Thanks to you guys for helping me, and thanks to both ElSemi and the guy who ported CPX3 for making me.. very happy indeed.  I think I might cry. XD

Ok, I'm confused.  How can the Xbox have issues running a CPS-3?

Wasn't it only a:
25 MHz CPU.

The Xbox is 700mhz isn't it.

What does it have that makes it so taxing?

this cpx3 is awsome. it runs all my sf3 perfectly.
but there is a major lag in red world, i dont know about
jojo bizzare but as long as sf3 works the way that it did now. it's perfect.

i guess the only thing left is create a customizable gui for the emulator.
bgm don't hurt xd

So is there any performance differences in between running the rom versions of the games and the chd versions?

Not really - there are different boot screen with small CPS3 logo before game begin (truly nothing - but if you have to much space on HD - you can have it).
Its more for accurate emulation - same as on original arcade machine where you boot for the first time from CD (it was taking about half/one hour to boot/copy all data to flash  laugh.gif ). Because ELSemi was writing this Cd emulation for Mame he included this also in his emulator.

I put also link for new skin for not logined guests  wink.gif :

Oh, seesh, not again. We're getting that for every emulator on every system.

Well, unfortunately, when you emulate, it takes you more than 1 instruction on the "target" processor to emulate an instruction from the original processor. First, you have to check what the instruction is, then tell it what to do, make sure not to run too fast, etc. In some cases, the instruction doesn't even exist on the target (e.g. I assume CPS3 as some particular hardware to do the zooming and stuff, and you can't just ask the XBox to "just do it" in an instruction). So you have to write a sequence of instructions that do the same job on the "target". Therefore, an instruction that might take a couple of clock cycles on the original hardware needs many more on the target hardware.
Add to this that the original hardware has separate dedicated hardware to process the sound etc whereas the same main CPU on the emulation hardware has to process it, and you understand why for instance you'll never see a PS2 emulator on XBox, even if the XBox's CPU is "3 times faster".

This emulator is just awsome. Only a few small hiccups (mostly at the start of a match), but when you think about how long it took the aniversary edition of third strike to load before every match it's really nothing at all to complain about. My arcade cabinet is absolutely glowing... owning the arcade pcb of this game is a big joke what with it's infamous "suicide battery" problem, from now on I'll just use my Xbox:) I expected this to be laggy and frame skippy, but it runs soooo good. I can't believe it. The only thing I could possibly ask for would be for some way to swap the menu button from "back" to the "right thumbstick" so that I don't have to disturb my arcade cabinet setup (set for MAME with the "back" button hooked up to the coin mech). Just when I thought the Xbox party was over with, the scene is blessed with one of the best emus to EVER grace this console. Many thanks to the creators, you guys rock! Back to SFIII:NG!!
