I would be real interested in a build of this emu that correctly renders the shadows / pverlays - to see how much of a hit it would take on the DreamX

I'm not at all sure what it would take but I'm pretty sure it would be too much work to change the emulator just for you and the rest of the minority to "test" their xboxs' out with the added renderings... and yes by now we all know that you have a friendtech blah blah... and two subs to boot... congrats.

Hello Fellow Gamers (HFG). Thanks for the help. I changed my settings from a locked 720p to auto adjust 480i/p - 720p. Now it works great  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !

I am using the CPX3 emulator on a regular modded xbox with and X3 Xecuter chip, and am having no issues. The sound works good and the emulator runs smooth. This is a great emulator especially for a first release.

Thats a Real negitive quote......

IM not asking to change the emulator FOR ME.  And yes there is a SMALL minority out there that have 1.0 and 1.4 Ghz Xbox's.  Wasn;t a request - was just a WHAT IF - Atually It would interesting from the point of view of the limits of the Xbox and a Upgraded Xbox.

- Whats that mean?>

I am just posting my results - like everyone else  - It is important to point out the hardware so some idot don;t go reading my post and thinks that a standard xbox can acheive what I have posted.  Only pointing out hardware to avoid confusion not to brag.  I have owned a DreamX for years - I always used to post results with other emu's and homebrew (some were actually given options to enable for US SELECT FEW), then I sold it.   As other Homebrew and Emu's were released I PERSONALLY would hope that other DreamX owners would post their results - And after about 1 - 2 years of seaching around the net I finally got my hands on another one - from a homebrew point of view it is a great machine.  Again just posting my results.  No need to get all sarcastic and preechy...

Lastly - I don't think the Creator of this emulator anticipated anyone with a 1.0GHZ or 1.4GHZ xbox to run the emu... Perhaps the author would appreciate that his work has perfect results on faster processors.

Agreed. How this (or any other emu for that matter) functions on a CPU-modded system is really of only limited interest to the majority of people. The first post was mildly informative for curiousity's sake but that will do I think.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well so far I'm getting nothing but trouble out of this emulator.
I know it's good to see new Emus and apps and other projects but an update is needed.

The fact that it shows EVERY rom when you can have ZERO is ass.
It should scan like every other emu out and list what you have.

I haven't gotten passed a single loading screen yet. I either get a black screen, a lock up at the rom list screen, or the chun-li loading screen. All of which show NO hdd activity what so ever.

I don't know if I need a XXX-Pro version or what but the md5s aren't checking out. Thanks to the stellar read me I have no clue wtf this emu is based off of, who it's made by, or who that person/team would like to thank so I can get in touch with he/she/it/them.

The set I have works with the latest MAME so idkwthiu

lil help Aut0!

I was a bit reticent to play this as the only game I was really interested in was Warzard, which I expected to be nearly unplayable.  I was wrong, I thought it played just fine, a few slowdowns here and there (particularly on that stage with lots of flames in the background) but nothing that was a showstopper.

After that I played some SF3 which I found myself enjoying a lot.  This really is great work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

How about a wide icon for the emulator itself?

How about that?

I tried Jojo, SF3 and Warzard on a normal XBox with 64MB of RAM.
I disabled bilinear filtering (it doesn't make a difference on my TV anyway), and set the frameskipping to 5 frames, and it plays perfectly well. The frameskipping is hardly noticeable.
Although I'm not a CPS3 fan, kudos to Elsemi, this is great work.
Maniaczek: Great icons as well! I use normal icons myself, but if I ever switch to wide ones, I'll definitly use yours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

*I know this has been said already but I have to add my two cents*

I think that the author of this emu should NOT listen to or take into consideration people with CPU modded Xboxes.  In future releases, (if any) he should optimize the emu for the majority of the users.  Most people on the scene don't have Friendtech's.  Those that do should just play and be happy the get a little better performance.

This first build is not bad at all.  I believe ElSemi can polish it even further if he plans to continue to work on it.  I love SF3 Second Impact!
