Interesting find.
I booted my Xbox (The 1480 Friendtech DreamX) with the Switch in the Normal position (740.5mhz) and then loaded the Emulator from Both Avalaunch and XBMC.
The emu booted fine and I was able to get sound in all games.
After loading a Rom - It played fine - as it would on a normal Xbox (which works fine, by the way, and 128 meg of ram don't do anyhting for the emulator on a regular Xbox in terms of framerate help - though im sure it can be optimized in future builds to help with ROM loading and enable less swap files for better performance.)
anyways..
Each rom played as if they would on a normal Xbox - I was getting slowdown in some SF, Alot of slowdown in WIZARD (espcially on zooms and specials) and some slowdown in JOJO's.
Though, Once in game I can flip the switch from Normal to Turbo to enable the 1481 mhz on the fly and the game run full speed - all slowdown dissappears.
I play Wizard for about 2 hrs and there is absolutely NO SLOWDOWN - JOJO's I think atually ran faster than it was supposed to (it was silky smooth). I was able to use the frame counter - though even at 1481mhz - the frame counter makes things studder here and there. With it turned off EVERY GAME plays 100% at full speed. ALL ZOOMS, Special effects and more work with no issues or slow down.
NOW - When I UNLOAD a rom I have to make sure to flip the switch back to normal before I do so - If not sound goes bye bye and i have to reboot. After I flip the switch to normal I can Unload the Rom, select a new one, Load it up - once it gets to the CAPCOM screen and I confirm sound - I can flip the switch back to Turbo and the game plays fine. Even save states and Load states work fine.
Anyone with a 1GHZ Xbox get any results yet?
Any other Friendtech users out there confirm what I am saying here?
