I was wondering if Zsnexbox utilizes the extra ram of a 128mb xbox?

Wow love the look of this new emu. I haven't been updating my xbox emu's, lol. My only problem is I can't load any of my games. I have my HD set to 480p. All of my roms have checked good with goodrom. Every one I load locks up my xbox. I'm going to try v3.1 to see if it runs.

NM found my problem. I had My TSR set to debug. I guess that was it because since I set it to normal everything is working ok.

Talk about going above and beyond ... Thanks!!!

Oops. Looks like I was wrong. ZsnexBox does not currently support 128MB of RAM. It will in the next release (as well as fix the memory issues for 720p and 1080i).

Great To hear, Still looking for someone to do my ram upgrade... Good thing though is that Zsnexbox doesan't really need the extra ram like Surreal or Mame, it would just be nice... I can tell sometimes when the frames skip in Fzero (which is the game i play on zsnexbox 90% of the time) or Mario Kart... Also Street Fighter Alpha (2?) always pauses before a fight and is a bit laggy. Extra Ram I suspect would fix all this, and of course (as addressed) the emu freezes the xbox when it runs out of memory in 720p. So am looking forward to not only upgrading but the emu being compatible.

Oh Hey and I actually have a quick question, How can I make an xbox soundtrack the default music when I start the emulator? Now That I think of it, It would be cool making my Fzero music I downloaded the default.... Thanks in advance.

These are actually core timing issues or correct behavior. Especially in SFA2. SFA2 is doing graphic decompression on the fly at correct SNES speeds I think. it does the same thing on my PC with 1GB of ram. If you turn on the FPS you'll see it stay at 60/60. So it's not dropping frames, just doing what it should do or there is a timing issue within ZSNES. In fact, there is no Virtual Memory in the Xbox (paging to the hard drive when a game runs out fo RAM). The entire game is allready in RAM, so a RAm upgrade would make no difference for ZsnexBox. Especially after I make it fully HD compatible in 64MB of RAM. The only real benefit would allow the user to uses mega high res GUI images.

There is no way to make a song the default, unless you convert it to wma and replace the skin bg music.

Oh ok This is good info to know. Thanks alot. Zsnexbox is the emulator I use about 90% of the time. So maybe I'll rethink paying for a ram upgrade... How about surreal do you happen to know if there is a difference with that emulator with upgraded ram? .... lol though I do love my mame emulator too and there are far too many unplayable games...

Thanks for this info too. Although I should have looked into my question before asking... As soon as I took a look at the contents of the actual Zsnexbox folder on my xbox I pretty much assumed this to be the case.... Maybe I could somehow combine several songs into one big WMA file and have that as a "psuedo playlist" and I can just have it playback in a loop....

Would it be really difficult to add custom default music as an option in a new release?? I know, kind of a pointless option since the majority of us (probably all) don't open the emulator to listen to music... we just pick a game right away anyways..... Just wondering.

Thanks for the hard work!!

Yes, there is actually a big difference in some games in Surreal with a RAM upgrade. With the upgrade Surreal is able to load the entire ROM into RAM so there is paging involved. It makes a noticeable difference in many games (I have the upgrade in my box).

lol, this is also good info to know... Well my mind's made up... I'll invest in an upgrade, if for nothing else, i can say i have one, and all the benefits would just be icing on the cake.

As for SFA2... why not just play the real arcade version in FBAXXX? It runs perfectly.

Ya your of course absolutely right, it works great in the mame emulator too... but I just love super nintendo. SNES was my console growing up so will always be my favorite. So every once in a while i'll switch over to play it on zsnexbox...

Hello,

nes I found an option that is not present in version 3.2 that would be very useful.  I noticed there was no option to turn the controller rumble completely off.  In the options menu somewhere you could add an option like "rumble configs/controller rumble [on/off]" and this would make it a lot easier.

I found the only current way to stop rumbling with rmb configs in the folder was to exit the emulator and rename the "rumble" folder or rmb config files so that they didnt match the rom, and vice versa to turn rumble back on again.   It would be excellent to be able to enable/disable controller rumble from within your emulator.

Thanks for your time and the guide reader is great.

All you have to do is go to the rumble config for the game you are playing and enable/disable them there. You can turn on/off each of them individually.

nes6502 is still on the place, it s a great news! smile.gif
the snes emulation on xbox is near perfect, even better than the pc emulation
so we can only request small but important details from you nes:

- 1) should it be possible to add modern way for the screen adjustement?
actually it is always hard to fit correctly the ingame screen with our tv's (the -9.9998881 etc... coordonates are   insane). perhaps you could look at the way xport let us fit the screen? (we simply see the number of pixels displayed horizontally and vertically, witch is... perfect!)

- 2) perheaps you could ad an option in the rumble config called "try a rumble config";
like i noticed you before, a lot of my rumbles configs (i did before) are region compatibles (ex my "contra 3.rmb" also work with the euro version if you rename it "super probotector.rmb" . the same if you rename my "megaman x.rmb" in "rockman x.rmb", rtype 3 (j)-r type 3 (u) etc...)
Concrete example: the user actually play rockman x (J), if the user click on "try a rumble config"; he will see a list of the existing rumbles configs, then, he will choose a rumble : he try the "megaman x(U).rmb".
he play, and cool! the rumbles are working for him!in that case, zsnexbox automatically rename the .rmb to match the user rom name
i have think about the rumbles problem a lot nes, and i think it is the best choice
because it is near impossible to match a .rmb config with the crc (it would be tooooo muuuuch looooog wooork to do) grr.gif

- 3) over than that, your emu is the best way to play the snes actually. you give people a lot of entairtainment
