Hi nes6502,

Unless I'm mistaken Zsnexbox doesn't support using a USB mouse to play mouse based Snes games... Is it possible that this will be added in the future (seeing as you have just released two new updates!)?
I normally use Zsnexbox for all Snes games because it is excellent but unfortunately have to revert back to using Xsnesx (which is good - but not as good as Zsnexbox smile.gif to play Mario Paint with an actual mouse.

Thankyou (hopefully!)

Are you talking about a standard PC USB mouse? Does the Xbox even support that?

How do you connect it?
Basically, the ports at the front of the Xbox are USB 1.1 ports with a proprietary connector. You can get adapter cables like this one. They will allow you to connect an USB device to the Xbox. Xbox Media Center supports USB keyboards and mice. You can also use an USB->PS/2 adapter to connect an older keyboard and/or mouse, like this one.

I don't know if USB hubs would work with Xbox Media Center, but I do know that they work with Linux. The only thing I tested with XBMC was such an USB->PS/2 adapter. I think I also used it once with DOSXbox.

[edit]
Off course, I tested the adapter both with a keyboard and a mouse. Both worked. The mouse could indeed be interesting for SNES mouse-based games.

easy to make with even my basic soldering skills. the bonus is, you can use your xbox pad on the pc,
use it as an action replay when you plug the memory card in, and you can even get drivers to run your xbl
headset.

I would also like to point out that you can use an usb mouse/KB with the atari st or amiga emu's by X-port. Just in case his source code would help you out?

I use the mouse to play lemmings in the amiga emu.

I downloaded the new "Zsnesxbox 3.1 .7z" file,
I installed as usual the file on my F partition (after deleting the old zsnesxbox 3.0 fix files),
I deleted the old save state from xbox memory.
Result:
when i select the emu the xbox reboots to the main dashboard  sad.gif  sad.gif
I tried several times, deleting all the files and reinstalling them but i always obtain the same result.
I had to reinstall the previous zsnesxbox 3.0 final fix to play succesfully the emu.
I'd like trying this new update.
Please may someone tell me what's my mistake? Thanks

Sounds like one of 2 things:

1) You edited the Path.ini incorrectly
2) You didn't copy everything over to your Xbox.

Thanks for the update!

*EDIT* fchr0m, do you have "usePathINI=1" at the top of your file "Path.ini"?

Sounds like one of 2 things:

1) You edited the Path.ini incorrectly
2) You didn't copy everything over to your Xbox.

Or...
1.) Make sure to delete your old Zsnes settings..by going Into the original Xboxdash and deleting It there or In your Edrive udata folder.
2.) Make sure you FTP'd It over right, meaning the folder is like this..
Fdrive folder /Emulators folder /Zsnes folder/(all stuff contained In the Zsnes..Xbe)

I mistakenly did It like this once in ..

fdrive folder /Emulators folder /Zsnes folder/Zsnes folder / (all stuff..blah blah..you get It.

^here was my mistake make sure you have It set up right, you might have two of the same folders.

I deleted "manually" the save folders in UDATA and TDATA (I think they are named "00000000").
I reinstall Zsnesxbox in F:\Emulators\Zsnesxbox 3.1 (default.xbe and all the other necessary files are in this folder) . UsePathini=1.
But again when i run default.xbe the xbox reboots to main dash.
I really don't understand where is the problem: i installed near all the existing emulators (also all the previous versions of Zsnesxbox) for xbox (several times) and i didn't have any matter (except Kixxx 1.0).
I gave up trying i return to Zsnesxbox 3.0 Fix waiting for Zsnesxbox 3.2.

How are you "reinstalling" it? Don't just copy all the 3.1 files/folders over top the 3.0 ones. You also don't have to delete any TDATA/UDATA files.

1) Ignore that you even have a ZsnexBox 3.0 folder.
2) Create a folder on your Xbox called "ZsnexBox 3.1"
3) Put everything from the zip in this folder (Don't change ANYTHING in the path.ini).
4) Run default.xbe

It should boot just fine as is. If it doesn't boot at this point, then there is an issue with your Xbox or partition (try the E partition). You might also try using unleashX. And when I say run default.xbe, I don't mean have evox run it through the dash menu. I mean open up a file browser on your Xbox. browse to where it is, and run it directly yourself.

Now, slowly (one line at a time and test) start changing the path.ini if you need to.

So, I shouldn't do this? Did I do something wrong, because this works for me.

First of all tanks for your support and excuse my lack of experience.
I "installed" Zsnesxbox 3.1 on E partition: all runs OK.
Then i move (using xbmc files manager) the emu folder from E to F:\Emulators\ and magically all works perfectly now.
I don't know which is the matter but i think I have some problems when i ftp files fron my PC to my Xbox as if the data are corrupted during the transfer from Pc to F partition uhh.gif . I noticed that the transfer process from my Pc to E partition needs only few minutes while the same process (regarding the same files) from PC to F xbox partition needs much more times.
May someone give me explanations about this?
Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the update, but I don't know if this'll fix my freezing problems at 1080i because with 3.0, I moved all my screenshots/previews out of zsnexbox's directory so it wouldn't display any more screenshots. The emu still froze after a couple of games.
