Ej guys,

I know most video-settings are a matter of taste; so I'm NOT asking for the 'best' settings. I'm just very curious what you guys prefer when using Zsnexbox on a HDTV.

I've always used 720p setting with Super Scale 2X + Flicker Filter of 0 + Soften turned off + Hardware Filtering set to Bilinear. But then I found the 10x11 function & it can only be enabled in 480i/p; so I tried that one. I liked it.. but I don't whether it's any 'better' than the 720p setting. I just can't tell the difference (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

So my questions are:
1. What video-settings do you guys use on you HDTV's when playing Zsnexbox?
2. When I stretch the 480p 10x11 image to widescreen; it's the same size as 720p. But should it look any different in comparison to the 720p image?

480p SuperSai 2x I think it was, bilinear, and no 10x11. It messes up my settings.

- Why do you prefer 480p over higher resolutions like 720p or 1080i?
- Have you tried any other software filters? Why did you choose SuperSai2x over SuperScale2x?

I prefer 720p myself.  I know some people like them games to match pixel perfectly with the games as played on the original systems, but I'm not really that anal.  Plus, my TV is natively 1080p, so it's going to scale the game anyway, so might as well have the emulator scale it to begin with.  Plus the GUI is much nicer and you can see more games in the ROM list with the emulator running in HD.

I tried your settings and I like it! I use it with the 10x11, but the Super2xSai filter is much better together with the pixelplus2HD feature my Philips HDTV has got. The Super2xSai  is a little blurier than SuperScale2x, but that looks much better.

I changed the settings for all my other emulators as well; world of difference!

I want my games to look as pixel-perfect and RGB-like as possible.  I use 720p, and I have found that Simple 2X + Flicker Filter of 0 + Soften turned off + Hardware Filtering set to Point produces the sharpest results, but some may not like it because it makes the game look more pixelated.  To me, anything else makes the game look either blurry or smoothed, both of which I hate.  I want to see the game the way it was programmed and designed to be seen.  Any kind of smoothing or scanlining is designed to either make the game look less pixelated or to reproduce the experience of playing the game through an RF cable on your parents' TV.

Thanks so much for such feedback. I was exactly searching for people
who love the pixel feeling and able to test it on high definition resolutions.

I will add your comments in my oldskool emu config tutorial.
But dude, besides the simple 2x and no flicker options are you using a correct
scaling of your screens? Please take a look here, maybe it could be useful for
