Just for the record I also get these sound cracks every 30 to 60 seconds on this FBA version but I don't get them on FBA Pro. Didn't mention it before because no one else reported this problem so I thought it might have been my console problem or bad ROM dumps I used to test. That's why FBA Pro is always better, if anything else at least you know you're using the best ROM sets available.

And that s why at first I was thinking of keeping future releases for myself.

Thanks for the reply Gogo.  I do play on HD mode.  Here are my settings:

HDTV 480Progressive
Software filter- Linear
Hardware filter- Simple 2x

PCM interpolation- HQ mode
FM interpolation- HQmode
Sample rate 44100

So it works with no cracks in 480I? sad.gif   I love the progressive scan output too much to give it up.  I have tried lowering the sample rate to 22050 and turning off the simple 2x filter but nothing changed.  Any other ideas?

There is a difference between "I personnally prefer pro version" and "that s why pro is always better".

Personally, I'd stick with this version if Gogo could find a way to get the sound issues worked out.   I'm grateful for his work because it seems like he is the one actually updating the emu itself.

It's my personal preference and I also belive the Pro version is always better because of the ROMset accurateness, so what? Can't I say it without you threatening me? And BTW what do you expect to achieve with such threat? Really, what do you expect me to do? I can tell you you'll get nothing from me with such pitiful threat and if you don't belive me then I dare you to take FBA-XXX down, take them down, the regular and Pro version both from Xbins and your site. Go on, let's see if you have the guts to do it, if you put your money where your mouth is or if you're just all talk.

This kind of attitude would be bad enough from a regular user but from a developer is simply inexcusable, shame on you man.

I don't really care what you think about me, I did this version for myself, I just "gave" it for the others who want to use it, if you don't like it, I am perfectly fine with it, but as I said there is a difference between giving your opinion ("I think ...") and juste say something for anyone ("is always better"), now I won't retire anything, if I wanted to do something like this, it would have been done since the beginning.
As for the shame on me, my version isn't the one that comes without sources  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleeping.gif) .

EDIT : again, for my attitude, I am sorry, I am here to read about bugs and others not about bitches complaining for futile things (like roms updates), I noted the sound crack issue and the widescreen apparently not being set automatically in 720p/1080i (a bug from MS?), maybe the game input recording and some other bugs.
As for the ppl complaining that rumble isn't working or this or this doesn't work when they are not using the good version, that s juste a waste of time for me.

Lets help Gogo test this thing and be happy the emu exists in the first place.  His version is more user friendly IMO and if he gets that sound crack fixed, I'll be set.

I didn't say I don't like it nor that I hate you, I said the Pro version is better because the ROM check thing. Anyway I think this was a misunderstanding as I thought you did both versions of FBA, but even if I knew it was done by 2 different persons I still say that was too overreactive on your part, it's not like I demanded/shouted everyone to dump your version of FBA and get the Pro.

That's why I got the regular version out of your sources when I compiled the thing. I thought there was some kind of compile flag on Visual C++ (like the ./configure script flags on GCC Makefile's) that was escaping me and therefor couldn't produce the Pro version. In that case shame on ... someone? I tought you did both versions, and that's what made me even more pissed. You do both versions, I say that I like one of them better and you come after me? NO WAI. Dunno if that's with me but I didn't complain about anything, what happened was the folowing:
1. I downloaded your FBA version and overwrited the old Pro version on my Xbox (I do updates by DVD+RW, no FTP for me).
2. I got the 30/60 secs cracking issues on the ROMs I used to test, these were new ROMs that I just downloaded and didn't audit with MAME.
3. I blamed your version and downloaded Pro again. Then when I tryed to start these new ROMsets I couldn't because they were bad dumps, since I had already deleted your FBA version from the DVD+RW and the Xbox I couldn't know if the sound cracks were a ROM issue or a emulator issue therefor my message:

4. You can blame me for being too lazy to redownload, burn and reinstall your version to make sure it wasn't a ROM issue.

That all said and done I'm also sorry for my inflamated post, I kinda get too pissed off over silly things sometimes.

All I can say is that the default settings produce the cracking on X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom, the 2 Romsets I tested with.

You say that because of that nearly naked chick on the default skins (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think I've 'found' a way to display CPS1/CPS2 games with Point Filtering on 4:3 TVs without using linear filtering nor tearing.
CPS games are rendered in 384x224, double it and we get 768x448, that's nearly widescreen. So what we do is go to widescreen mode for these games... but on a 4:3 TV. If you tell a console to do this instead of getting letterboxed display you'll get a squashed TV image just like the CPS does, add to this the 10x11 pixel ratio and it should be enough squashing to fit the image.
But there's a problem, the Widescreen mode on FBA is 720x480, that's not enough for 768 pixels required for correct CPS display, it's missing 48 pixels. I've checked the source and it seems that the Widescreen resolution is out of the coders hand (xbApp.m_d3dpp.Flags |= D3DPRESENTFLAG_WIDESCREEN;) Can't the Xbox display a more wide image? I don't feel like reinstall XDK just to check the help files.

Anyway even if that's the maximum horizontal resolution on analog signal it doesn't really matter that much since it's only 24 pixels on each side, only 6% of the image. I've tryed to set FBA into widescreen mode and it works good enough, the 10x11 flag should help it but then we need to get the image centered and FBA doesn't allow negative coordinates. Of course this must be a special option for CPS games only since the others use the regular 320x224(or 240) resolution.

Also I've noticed that FBA stores each system screen adjustment independently but I can't find these settings anywere on the .ini files. Where are these?
