Flashing Tsop With X2.2 Lite
« on: September 09, 2003, 05:30:00 PM »

Can't I flash the TSOP with a X2.2 Lite like I would with a Engimah?

1. Install chip + make TSOP writeable
2. Install evox on HD, put bios on HD
3. Boot evox, disable modchip
4. Use evox to flash TSOP with bios of choice.

I've done this before with a engimah, and from what i've read in other posts and tutorials on this site I cant do this with a X2.2 Lite.  Why not?

I see no reason you cant. I've done quite a few in a similar fashion.

I think when the xbox boots from the LPC port it disables its own TSOP.  The xbox must be tricked into not doing that with the Evox_Matrix_TSOP bios/method.  This only works on v1.0 boxes (with a valid bios still in the TSOP).

Ahh, ok.  darn... sold my last engimah too.

so basically any non-LPC mods will allow you to easly flash the TSOP?

if you call 29 wires easy

go for the 007/MA booting evox or raincoat

anyway
looks like the new Evox_Dual_TSOP bios can do them all in this way

Jerome, if you put the new tsop D6.bin BIOS on your mod-chip, you should be able to flash the TSOP of any xbox, except maybe the new 1.4, but I dont see why it would not work for this one also.

Just download the new EvolutionX dash and the tsopD6 bios is included with it, then just follow the instructions on Matrtix TSOP flashing, and that should work for you. ph34r.gif

alright, i have successfuly accomplished this 2 days ago on a XBOX v1.0 here are my steps ..

1. make the tsop writeable (solder the 2 points)
2. install x2.2lite (i used Evox D.6) [don't think you have to .. X2 4977 is fine]
3. boot with modchip on & evox boot disc
4. turn off modchip after evox loads
5. flash the tsop with a 1MB BIOS [i used 1MB b/c my version is a 1.0] [i flashed X2 4977 on there]
6. remove modchip
7. boot with evox cd in & ftp & install your stuff

There ya have it, it is very possible to do this .. just make sure to flash the right size BIOS on to your XBOX.

Instead of doing steps 2,3, and 4,  couldnt you just skip the modchip and use the 007/MA gamesave to load up evox and flash with that?

I hope you didn't flash it to your TSOP.  Did you?

if you could do this then why did the evox team release the Evox_matrix_tsop bios and now the D6_tsop bios?
