QUOTE(Kanyero @ Dec 28 2006, 12:47 AM) View Post

Really? Well here in Spain (we are european too) Snes was a great success

And me hailing from the Netherlands will have to agree with Kanyero,
in fact i noticed Nintendo overtaking Sega's position almost overnight after the Snes was released.

as a matter of fact Sega only really held total control here for a very short moment.
(that being the time when the Megadrive/Genesis had just been released)

but the moment the Snes was released all the stores switched like 75% of their space back to Nintendo again.

and to Timerever, from what I've read you are not a die hard gamer like most of us are, (nothing wrong with that)
so please don't claim Europe as your defense, because gaming has been huge here since mid NES times,
so i wonder about your claims, either you were too young to remember or the stores in the town where you lived were run by Sega fans.

And no i wasn't a Nintendo fanboy, in fact i owned a Sega.
(still have it, together with like 50 other consoles)   biggrin.gif

I hear that ZSNES 1.5 breaks some of the translation patches.  (Source: http://www.romhacking.net/)

@Timerever:  You mean you had a Gamecube & didn't play any of the Resident Evil games?  That's a damn shame.

I did play RE0, but haven't played RE4. Shame on me.

ZSNES 1.50 is NOT stable!

To compare: with version 1.42 I could play every game I have without any problem. In my opinion, it's perfect emulation.

In version 1.50, the first game I start is Gundam Wing: Endless Duel. I sometimes use this game as a stress reliever. To my surprise, in-game the moving background of the first stage (in which you fight Deathscythe on a burning ship) was flickering very annoyingly at some places, horizontally.

Although I never had any problem with 1.42, this is the first problem I have encountered with 1.50 and therefore it is 'not stable', at least for me. I will try some other games with 1.50, but will stick with 1.42 as my 'general SNES emulator for my computer'.

[edit]
The 'bug' also occurs at the stage where you are fighting Tallgeese. In the snow with the OZ base in the background.

I like how the thread had about 5ontopic posts before it switched to Sega vs Nintendo.   biggrin.gif
What Slybeat said is true, 1.5 does break some translation (something to do with it now using proper rom-mirroring or something).
Since a translation is available for Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, it's probably what your using, and it is probably broke because of that.
Correct in the former, not correct in the latter. Tested it.

I have the original game (of which the signature is correct) and the IPS of the translation which is auto-applied before the game is started. I took the ROM to a separate folder and started it from there. Signature is correct and the 'original' game (which uses Japanese as it's language) still shows the bug.

Nope, but sometimes it feel good to do preschool stuff, like you never wanted to played with plasticine or taking a nap after lunch? wink.gif  tongue.gif

On topic too, ZSnes 1.50 seems to have fixed Super Aleste but I haven't done any full testing, just watched the intro and seems OK. Anyway sooner or later a .51 or .52 bug fixing version will show up to fix those nasty bugs you reported.
