Thanks loads for this emulator it just gets better and better with every update.

May I ask was you going to add other emulators within the emulator even though it`s called Zsnexbox cuz you already have the sound all setup ?

Is there anything else your going up update for the emulator as i can`t think of anything now you really have made this the top emu for snes playback.

cheers biggrin.gif

Lol so instead of saying how, you'll just tell us where to look

Good idea?
Well you are supposed to read FAQ's before you ask questions, it is part of the forum rules you know wink.gif

Alternatively Nes could spend all day answering lazy questions and do no work on this excellent emulator.

Good Idea?

The music playback is just a sweet extra for us retro-heads, Nes has already said that he might work on another emu AFTER Zsnexbox (personally I'd have a good lay down after so much work) but to be honest there seems no point in redoing already done work ala the Xport emu's.

Almost any emu that can be ported HAS been ported imho..

I doubt it cos that would require a collossal amount of work and we have other emulators for that anyway

-Added a music player to the GUI. Music is played at 44100 16-bit stereo. The following file formats are supported: GBS, SPC, NSF, VGM, GYM, and VGZ.

Biggest WTF ever! I mean, did someone ask for a ... music player on Zsnexbox or did you decided to implement it on your own? blink.gif

Anyway, what I was going to post in the other release topic and will post on this one is that the 8 Point Filter on the sound option sounds much clear than the Gaussian Filter, yet it's the latest that's selected by default. Is there a good reason for this, like perforance wise or something else? I'll keep using the 8 Point Filter since I haven't noticed any slowdown yet but I'd like to hear it from you.

I don't think anyone was expecting it tbh, but saying that it's a sweet addition. It just seems perfect to be able to play SPC's on a Snes emu smile.gif

Next rumoured feature is a bot that takes over for all the boring 'instant' rpg battles wink.gif

..... several people including me have expressed interest in SPC file playback. The other formats are a bonus to me.
And even then, it's not like he can't implement whatever feature he may want personally....

Quite frankly it would be better off on a separate program or better yet as a XBMC plugin, but whatever, if you requested it then more power to you.

EDIT: I somehoe didn't read this part of your reply:

The only thing I don't like re the new music player is that you set your tune up, play a game only for it to reset to the skins internal music. I've checked the faq and can't see a way around this.

If it's not already implemented, configurable paths to the music would be nice.

While I'd also like to see XBMC to one day play all video game formats (it's nice to have 1 music player that does everything rather than seperate programs), since it doesn't (to my knowledge only SNES and Genesis/MD) this is a fantastic alternative.

Great Job!

I am a big fan of several game soundtracks, like Ultima Exodus on NES and
Castlevania IV on SNES. Very nice feature indeed.
Suggestion for listening:
- Gaiares soundtrack, the most awesome shmup for Mega Drive ever!

And I was thinking --- Why we don't mention to XBMC crew about
this feature? Anyone already tried that? Since Nes6502 made the job
inside Zsnexbox maybe they can contact him for simple directions?
A starting gun...

Well, just an idea!

Cheers,
C.

Beleive me. Any programmer could add support for all these formats in 30 minutes or less. Blarrgs excellent library is so well coded it takes virtually no effort to include it it into any Xbox or PC app.

My goal was to use it for spc. But when I got spc working, I realised I got all those other formats for free as well. So instead of disabling them, I decided "Why not just have them all".

I'm not done with the player yet, so if anyone has any suggestions about the implementation, please feel free to make them.

As mentioned earlier :- Make it able to carry on playing your chosen chip tunes after it returns from playing a game, at the moment it reverts to the skins own tune.

Make the player switchable between loop and next tune in list, at the mo you can only pick another tune when you are browsing the music.
Maybe a random tune player
Displaying of number (not names) of sub tunes (if any)
C64 SID support

ok, I'll shut up now wink.gif

I would like to request support for GBA(GSF), PC Engine(HES), N64(USF), and Playstation(PSF).
In some ways these formats are similar to others, but I have no knowlege on how much work would need to be done to implement them. Although this is an SNES emulator and may not make any sense to support these formats, nes you have already pushed emulation boundries with this emulator. Many people want a media player that can play all of their game music. If you were to implement more formats and make it an "all your game music player", since we don't have any for the xbox you would be not only be bettering your emulator, also creating an media player for all game music enthusiats, something that I believe is very much needed.

Reguardless of however you feel or whatever you decide to do, i'm behind you.
I have followed this emulator since its birth and would just like to say thankyou for all of your hard work and for being so cool to everyone and taking their thoughts into consideration.

Zsnexbox is defenitely a testament to the greatness of homebrew on xbox. cool.gif

This covers the following systems:

Nintendo
Super Nintendo
Sega Genesis
Sega 32X
Sega Master System
Sega Game Gear
Gameboy
Gameboy Color
SG-1000

What do you mean by that; that this emulator can use roms from the systems listed? Sorry, but I've been gone for quite some time.  huh.gif

It means it can play music formats for those systems.
