Mame Combos
« on: September 25, 2006, 03:02:00 PM »

I'm using Mameox 128 Plus, and I was wondering if there is anyway to assign a combo to a single button? Only cus I don't feel like typing in a 20+ key combo when I want to use hidden characters in, for example, Last Blade 2.

So, if there is any way, how do you do it...? And what is the "custom buttons" settings for in the in-game list(I thought it was one key combo type thing but I couldn't seem to get it to do anything; couldn't set anything or see any effect)?

Thanks in advance!

Doesn't anyone even know whether there is one or not?

they all probably just use mame cheats to turn on those options. (does mame on xbox even support cheats?)

or they use the neogeo uni-bios to turn cheats on.

It does support cheats, but the cheats don't do what I want, except I can choose which player I want(The game has 3 styles of playing, Speed, Power and an unlockable one called Ex; I like to use this Ex mode but it requires a combo and I'm lazy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)  )

There is a cheat to change the style(so it says) but as far as I can see it only changes the little logo that tells you which style your playing as, not the way the character handles....

Other emus have a way to assign a specific combo to a single key...I was just wondering if Mame does too. Thanks for the reply though.

From what I understand you need a Xbox keyboard to set the "custom buttons" in the config menu...
I don't know why HK$ did that !  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Ok, does anyone know where the config files for the key combos are stored? Maybe I could manually set them....maybe...

I've actually gotten kind of used to putting in the combo manually...it's just now my friends complain about putting in combos(the fact that they are playing a fighter makes you wonder why they have problems with combos in the character select screen...)
