This all again to say that even if you align everything right you'll still need a software image filter to add the scanlines (since the xbox can't do 224p) and hope that everything just falls into place, that includes matching these first 16 black lines, a hard task since they're... black. That's where the X/Y may help but you can never be too sure that there are indeed exactly 16 black lines on each border.
And when you finally do it will then ruin the SNES hi-res mode, aka 448i, since that mode obviously doesn't have scanlines, all lines even and odd are filled with game image with exceptionof the first and last 16 lines (the borders).
This all is too much trouble IMHO for so little reward.
Little reward? Again, this is your opinion, Timerever. While I do respect your opinion, mine differs vastly from yours. There are many features that I don't use, such as cheats, that are possibly more trouble to implement than XY coordinates, but do you see me arguing with others over their requests just because I don't personally have a use for them?
I respect the fact that there are people who enjoy using cheats, just as others should respect the fact that there are people like myself and Cospefogo who would like to see working XY coordinates so we can properly use Point Filtering.
It's also a reasonable request. It's not like we're requesting nes to implement a web browser to play back Youtube videos or voice chat to talk to one's favorite uncle in Cambodia.
Additionally, the solution to the hi-res issue you have isn't complex at all. I've gone over this several times before. The few games that use hi-res mode would have to be run with a Linear filter. Problem solved.
