Hi I recently installed Zsexbox 2.95 on my xbox and it won't load up. (I also tried 2.. I installed it on my other xbox, which has a xenium in it, and it works fine (awesome program btw!). On my second xbox, which has an older chip (dont know which). It just freezes on the loading screen. Both xboxes are running evox 3935 and evolution dashboard.

Does this have anything to do with the chip or is there something else that I am doing wrong? I was trying to upgrade from a old snes9x emulator.

I really want to run this emulator on my other xbox. It is soooo much better than the old emulator!!

Please help. Thanks.

PS I am also having the same problem with neogenesis 2.1. The old dgen emulator works but not neogenesis?!?

Did you install 2.92 first and then upgrade it with 2.95?
Is IGR turned on in evox? If so, try turning it off.

evox can be flakey with launching some things. I highly reccomend you upgrade to UnleashX. Some users have had to do this because evox would not launch ZsnexBox on their configuration (modchip/bios/evox version). But UnleashX is about 1000 times better than evox anyway, so I'd reccomend doing this even if that isn't the problem.

Maybe it's a little offtopic but I'm curious; what is much better about UnleashX? And when you compare it to Avalaunch [I use it]? Any good reasons why I should upgrade from Avalaunch to UnleashX?

Evox = UGH CAVEMAN
UnleashX = Modern Day Man with a nice house

Avalaunch = Modern Day Man but with a slightly different and slightly smaller and slightly less nice house


ok i'm just kidding ya, Avalaunch is nice but i tried both and my choice went to UnleashX
(for added beauty effect use the UnleashBlu skin)

UnleashX also support videomode switching on-the-fly per game setting which EvoX or Avalaunch doesn't support.
No need for Enigma switch or anything like that.

Better skins (and a lot of them), video previews for games/apps/emulators, better file manager with zip/rar extraction, built in text editor, and built in support for renaming the xbe title are the reasons I use it.

However, I think evox is the only dash that can load trainers (am I wrong?) and I don't think there is a way to launch Crimson Skies off the HD or use IGR on Soul Calibur 2 through any other dash than Avalaunch.

XBMC when used to launch games now has the ability to use evox trainers.

but UnleashX is awesome. the text editor is sweet, and it's hard to beat auto-download of game video previews off the internet.

you can use xored mini launcher .. launch it off unleashx .. select game - the the trainer for that game will show up - enable/disable trainer options ..
xbmc has it to, n better imo.. it saves ur trainer options when launching game

Like the other guys allready said there's the Xored Mini Launcher for cheats (works very well for the games i tried it with)
and i dont think i ever had trouble launching Crimson Skies from the HD with UnleashX  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
then again maybe i was still using Evox at the time? but probably not since i only used Evox for like.. 3 months.
i would have to check it out, i really enjoyed Crimson Skies.

Ok so I turned off the IGR and it didnt help and yes I installed 2.92 before upgrading to 2.95. Like I said before, I even tried version 2.8.

So I have downloaded unleashx and will install it later today (eventhough I am a little nervous because if I screw up the dashboard I will be locked out of my xbox!!!). Old chip doesnt have an OS like xenium that I can still FTP to if the dashboard doesnt work. I guess I can make a boot disk if all else fails.

So you guys really think this has to do with the dashboard?! Ok I'll try it and let you know...unless there are other suggestions out there...

There is a Path.ini and if you edited it, it was done correctly? Also, you are sure there are all the files present? Also, where are you running the default.xbe from?

You also could try changing the save partition to F or G in the Path.ini

Of course I don't know for sure, but I'd bet this is an evox issue
