I hope you have the cartridges/PCBs/arcade machines to go with these ROMs.

Piracy discussion is not allowed on X-S, period. If you are looking for answers to help you with your pirating or help downloading roms, you won't find anything here, sorry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

If you do not own the Street Fighter arcade PCB itself, it is not legal for you to have the ROM. There is a huge difference between the arcade versions and the console version; most notibly development time and cost.

Use MAMEdOX (use this for 80s, early 90s games). If you want to play Street Fighters, Metal Slug, etc. I probably suggest using FBAxxx.

BTW which emulator were you using?

A different port of a certain game does not make a difference. If you want to legally play the arcade ROM, you need the arcade cartridge/PCB.

Example:

Just because I own Mortal Kombat on my SNES doesn't mean i'm entitled to owning Sega Genesis, Arcade, or any other ROMs other than the SNES one.

dude, just ignore that stupid fuck.. keep your mind on fixing your problem.

as already mentioned try FBAXXX for those roms, and MAMEOX for the others.

You NEVER said you Downloaded anything so He's NOT right in jumping you about legally owning shit.

If he is missing files from his ROM archive then he obviously did not get them from a legidimate source.

What help could be offered:

Link him to another site for romz?
Send him romz?

I'm just trying to keep him out of trouble so he can continue to post on X-S.

He also mentioned that he did not own the arcade versions of the games he is trying to run, but the console versions. Therefore it is not legal for him to have the arcade ROMs.

The only one talking about piracy is you, his problem is that the roms he does have are not showing up. He in no way asked for any roms so quit being a dickhead and don't post if you are not being helpful.

If i'm wrong, then I apologize, but the fact remains he said he does not have the arcade hardware/cartridges.

In any case, your ROMs do not contain all of the neccessary files to run. I ran into this problem with running ROMs of my Neo Geo AES cartridges. I had to load an AES BIOS file into the rom directory (since this is what I had) to get it to work. MAME emulation is tricky and it usually depends on what type of machine you are trying to emulate as to what files you would need. As to where these files can be obtained is unknown.
