Help Master System Roms Dont Work In Neogenesis

They are all unzipped and in the folder with all my other sega cd/genesis roms.  But when I open the master system roms everything is fine but just a blank black screen comes up.  I don't hear any sound and pressing buttons doesn't do anything.  My master system roms work fine on pc master system emulators (they are all .sms files).

All my genesis and sega cd roms work fine in neogenesis and Im using the latest version.  Anyone else have any problems getting their master system roms to work?

nevermind i was under the wrong impression that neogenesis played master system roms.
