Pcsxbox Gameplay Problems
« on: September 10, 2006, 04:13:00 AM »

When playing games using this emulator gameplay works perfect for the first 30-45 minutes, but after that gameplay begins to slow down
Games are being run through the original xbox hard drive
Will check the framerate, what should it usually be?
And will running games using cds help?

Thank You

might be an xbox hardware problem, like overheating maybe.
personally, i have played some ps1 games for much longer than 45 minutes, and they didn't slow at all

I did ask the question about increasing the fan speed in the newbie chat forum, but was recommended not to worry about the temp
maximum temp i have seen was about 110 and 120 F (M/B and CPU) but it is usually at 100 and 110 F

Used Cds to play my games and still the same problem, any help on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated
Could it be the emulator that i downloaded, bad file or something, bad settings for the games

unlikely, instead of increasing fan speed, get a better spot to put your xbox e.g. dont block the fan.

That was my first thought, i'll give it a try
Thanks

Another problem is on some games i get multiple thin black lines running horizontally across the screen

scanlines? click the left thumbstick a couple of times (this toggles graphics filters)
i prefer to set mine to advanced mame 2x (everyone has their favourite filter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) )
but some games won't function at all unless you set the filter to none.

Still The same problem
The problem may have nothing to do with temperature issues, i mean all my other emulators run correctly and my xbox games have no problems
Any other suggestions please

The games with the problems are Bishi Bashi and Tekken 3
But MK Trilogy works at good speed all the time, and what i noticed is that the fps for this game during gameplay is always on 50
The other 2 games vary a lot during gameplay, i understand tekken does slow down sometimes, but Bishi should work 100% (checked compatibility list)
