Romcenter says my rom's good.  Plus, I've played the game with various iterations of zsnexbox in the past without any problems.  Thanks for the help though.  Any other ideas about what the problem might be?  It's the only game that I've had this problem with.

Sounds like you have cheats (that ZSNES doesn't like) turned on.

nes,

Unless someone finds a game that works only with the 3-29-06 build, the 9-04-06 build looks like the superior candidate to pair up with 2-28-05 in the 3.0 multicore release.

Zsnes Build 9-04-06

+ BSZelda works again (with issues, see below)
+ Super Punch Out - transparancies now work (disable new graphics engine)
+ Kirby's Dreamland 3 - option menu freeze fixed (but was still playable before)
+ Fixed Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade. [Jonas Quinn]
+ Expanded displayable transparency issues in several games including U.N. Squadron and Star Ocean. [Jonas Quinn]
+ Fixed windowing issues in Dragon Quest, Star Ocean, Final Fantasy V and probably other games. [Jonas Quinn]
+ Fixed the source of the Super Turrican crash. It also fixes my current Robotrek game. I pray this doesn't break anything else... [Deathlike]
+ Ys III, Dezaemon, Tokimeki, Fire Emblem, etc... *should* all work nicely now. Let me know if otherwise. [Nach, Jonas Quinn]
+ Removed hacks for Clayfighter, Bahamut, Punchout, Mortal Kombat, DQ5. [Nach]
+ Fixed most of the Super Power League 4 bugs. Special thanks to John Weidman and Dark Force for working on the fix and sharing it on the old snes9x board. [Jonas Quinn]

- BSZelda - slowdown
- Super Bomberman 2 - slowdown
- Other games reportedly suffer from same slowdown bug
- Chrono Trigger - fights are plagued by flashing
- Star Fox 2 - is still 50% too fast and may also freeze or flicker
- Ranma 1/2 - random freezes
- Stunt Race FX - occasional flashing
- Clayfighter - freezed after Bonkers\Helga battle

The only way to do that would be to take a savestate 60 times a second during all of the emulation. And then load them 60 times a second in reverse order. It could be done, but I would imagine that would kill performance.

I love the way rewind currently works on Zsnes and how I can delay it more because it doesn't kill performance so much. On Xport emulators you can't change the rewind setting and it totally kills performance even on Nes games using filters like 2XSAI. However it is more smooth rewinding like CarCrashClutter wants it.

I don't think it's so much a bug, but it's known that many special chip games (specifically SA-1 titles) are just going to require more juice than the XBox can provide in newer versions.

One of the devs also posted a note on their forum recently saying that more emulation related fixes are on the way very soon, so it might be worth waiting a little longer.  I seem to remember nes6502 mentioned offhand a couple of days ago that it still might be a little while before we see a new version, so hopefully another WIP will be out by then.

You are correct, sir.  Thanks for the help.  Maybe I'll be able to stump you next time.  wink.gif

I don't know if anyone has requested this or not (sorry, just noticed this thread), but one thing I'd like to see added is IPS patch support (for translation patches). It's the only thing I really miss from xsnes9x.

I'd like to see support for actual lightguns rather if that's possible.

I noticed that someone requested JMA support a few pages back and I would like to second this request.  It's the Zsnes input format of choice.

If it falls into the 7zip/rar category than I apologize in advance.

First off would like to say thanks for all the effort you have already put into this emulator nes, it's fantastic!  Secondly, I hate to sound like a broken record, but I too would like support for IPS's with roms.

The only feature left not emulated is light gun support.  All these advanced xbox features that dont affect gameplay are all good and well, but in the end zsnexbox should support what the real snes supports.  Favorites/codes/filters/etc. are based on xbox improvements and aren't necessary toward emulating a snes console.

I hope that something can be done about the lightgun support for the 3.0 final release.  This would improve zsnexbox 100%.

Thanks.

As mentioned in one of the older threads, I'd like to see a customizable saves directory, so I can point it to say e:\saves\zsnesbox, to keep my root folders clean and minimal. Otherwise, thanks for the hard work.

so I'm going to guess that the way zsnes handles lightguns on a pc doesn't particularly like being translated accross platforms, or there's some other complicated problem with it.

Yeah, actually ZSNES doesn't support lightguns at all. All it supports is the red crosshair. And there is no way to turn that crosshair off when the supersope is enabled. So, if I add lightgun support, I'll have to add some assembly to ZSNES to disable the red crosshair and add the lightgun support from scratch.  I do intend to look into it, but it may or may not make it in to the ZsnexBox.

Ability to specify Default Rom path.  Changing the .ini file is too complicated.

How is it too complicated?

If your ROMs are in the G:\ROMS\Snes folder on your Xbox, then in the Path.ini you type:

G:\ROMS\Snes\

on the first line.

That's it.
