Just so people know. It doesn't matter what the game names are as long as they are reasonable.
The game genie database will not be accesable until after a game is sarted, so the user will know what game they need to look at to get the codes.

The cheats database will be accessable anytime.

Ability to combine buttons to perform a function like saving a state, rewind, etc.

I really wish you would make it so you could combine buttons to perform a function. I use the Street Fighter Anniversary Edition controller which is shaped exactly like a Saturn pad, so I sometimes find myself wishing I had more buttons, since it's missing both analog sticks and the two buttons you get when you click the analog sticks.

For example. Hold the L button and then press the R button to bring up the menu. It would be great if you could map functions to combo buttons like this. I think there's an NES emulator that does this well. Left Trigger + A = save state, Right Trigger + A = load state, etc.

This is a great emulator and I've already had all my friends switch over to it from xSNES9x, keep up the great work!! It saddens me that Zsnexbox is approaching its final stages, but at the same time, I am impressed. In just a few months Zsnexbox has evolved into a feature-packed, super fast SNES emulator, and quite possibly the best emulator for any system released on the Xbox.

P.S.: The cheat database is a great idea, if there's a list for Pro Action Replay codes as well that'd be awesome.

Hello, 1st of all, thx 4 the amaaaaaazing port.  jester.gif

Don't know if it's been reported yet, but there's an issue with PAL roms.
Lemme explain : when region is set to auto, pal roms don't run smoothly, animation is kinda choppy  uhh.gif .

This can be fixed is region is set to NTSC and everything looks good.
BUT (indeed there's a but  wink.gif ) some PAL ROMS refuse 2 launch with NTSC region enabled.

For instance actraiser2 (which is annoying since NTSC ROM doesn't work properly  sad.gif )

Moreover there are some games that are only PAL and don't launch in NTSC mode => look at Pop'N twinbee, rainbow bell adventures, never released in the US.

The choppy stuff doesn't occur with xSnes9X, but ZsnesXbox is sooooo much better, that I can't imagine going back to Xsnes.  mad.gif

So, am I the only one with this issue, or do we all need a fix ?

Gilles : thanks for your efforts, but you didn't check out the example i gave out and the standard we started doing this. So it pretty much means i'll have to redo these letters all over.

I'll be merging RMM's work into mine later, will give an exact update of what's done and probly uploada WIP.


nes6502 : Okay, thanks for the names clarification.


totozero51 : there are 2 ways to bypass the protection. The first is to play the game in PAL mode past the region-check, make a savestate, switch to NTSC, and load that savestate.

The second is to run the ROM thru uCon64, wich has several of the protection methods in its database and can automatically fix them (be aware its not all, some games used there own proprietary undocumented protection).

Be also aware that running a 50hz game at 60 (ntsc) can cause many different problems, mostly related with audio/video sync, but sometimes major gameplay stuff.

I made an extensive post about this in the zsnexbox faq thread.

Here are my suggestions for versions 2.9\3.0:

- Option to default to the Select Game or Favorites screen instead of the main menu.
- Ability to scroll faster by pushing right or left on the directional pad.  Two ways of doing this would be scrolling one letter at a time or scrolling 1 page at a time.
- Ability to scroll faster with shoulder buttons.
- Option to leave "last game played" as the highlighted rom at bootup.
- Option to use either the original SNES or 10x11 aspect ratios that xSnes9x uses.
- Option to use the black\white and left shoulder button combo to save\load from in game.
- Option to choose default save state while playing (a button combo might work here as well).
- Option to set the default save state to any one of the 10 states.
- A global and per game setting for video and/or controller settings.
