You could, yet the thread is about suggesting features we think would be cool. No reason to discourage that. One advantage is being able to delete crap games as soon as you find them. No having to make a list. Another is the ability to manage the roms without an outside program, giving more of a feel of controlling the cartridges through the emu. It's not a diehard request either, just an idea for a feature that may be cool and convenient.

Thumbs up, my man!

This is exactly what I was about to say --- The best way to get rid of the useless
roms is deleting right away when you find them. I say this by my own experience
on Mame emulators. Entire Rom sets have a lot of garbage inside, and this
is the QUICKEST WAY (imho) to clean the mess.

I understand that most people have zero interest in such a feature, but
I know people that could smile after seeing it implemented.

Imagine opening your Zsnexbox, browsing a "disliked" rom, taking
notes on a paper, browsing more roms, taking more notes on a
paper, exiting emulator, going to a file manager, searching the
roms inside the directories, deleting one by one, and so on...

It's tiring for those who want a clean romset on their Xboxes.
Always, my opinion!

Thanks guys!

The best option in any case is to scan your roms with NSRT instead of goodsnes. this way, you only endup with the best dump available for each game, with none of the crap, no testing needed.

anyways i didn't notice verii's post. ill try to find out what he's up to with his cheat list.

That's a good point
However I'm referring to awful games like mario preschool games, rather than bad dumps
It would be a cool feature to be able to delete these right in the emulator as soon as you hit them

Also if nes adds the rumble feature he thought up, it will be an amazing extra.

All the suggestions and ideas in this thread are really just extra enjoyment since it already has just about any feature that a demanding gamer would find cool or important.

Again, Thumbs Up to Hopeful!
I think we think on the same way.

Scanning my roms with NSRT or Goodsnes will not
deleted the roms "I don't like" or the ones "I will never play".

Super Famicom releases have a lot of good stuff,
but a lot of weird and japanese textual games and board games,
the ones I don't play.

We ask for this feature not to check working dumps,
but to be able to delete right away the roms who do not
please me as a gamer.

Can you guys see my point?

If anyone does make a cheat code list, please make it easy to distinguish where games are separated.

Like:

Game Name: Contra 3
00000000 Description
00000000 Description
00000000 Description
00000000 Description

Game Name: F-Zero
00000000 Description
00000000 Description
00000000 Description
00000000 Description

etc...

That way, I could search for something unique (Game Name:) to find each game and display a list of games. The user could select the game and the codes would be listed. They could then select a code and add it to any of the 15 slots for the game.

I could also add a separate cheats browser (non GG/AR) if anyone wanted to make some type of comprehensive list. http://www.gamegenie.com/cheats/snes/index.shtml has all this information separated by game. It would just be time consuming to copy/paste all this information into a text file since theres probablly 400+ games listed.

Such as:

Game Name: Contra 3

Code notes:
The following codes are valid for the Japanese version of the game.
No codes exist for the North American version.

Level select:
Press Left, Down, Down/Left, Left, Start at the player selection
screen. A hum will confirm correct code entry.

All weapons:
Press Right, Down, Down/Right, Right, Start at the player selection
screen. A death scream will confirm correct code entry.

Screen spin:
Briefly press L or R once, then hold the button in levels two or
four. The screen will spin rapidly.

In-game reset:
Hold L + R + Start and press Select during game play to return to
the title screen.

Sound test:
Rapidly tap X while quickly pressing Down, Right on the title
screen.

My only requests:

- Automatic core selection (or at least add some default selections). I'm sure there has been enough testing to do this.

- Xbox lightgun support

Just to note, i've site-ripped the SNES code section from gamefaqs.com and im in the progress of putting it all in a .txt file

reason i picked it over gamegenie.com is from comparing a hanful of entrys its list seemed more comprehensive.

edit : just to clarify, i mean game-codes, not gg/par.

I have a simple request: add an option in the main menu to shutdown the Xbox. There's that option in FBA-XXX and I think its really useful.

nes6502,  I made a similar suggestion to the emulauncher guys except I added the suggestion of including tips for things like how to beat certain characters and eggs for things like hidden levels or games within games.  It would be a cheats, eggs, tips text file.  I think they are considering adding something like this in emulauncher v2.0 so it might be a good idea to talk to bjs1400 or blittan and see if you guys could come up with a way of handeling (or accessing) the file that would work well for Zsnexbox but could also be used easily with emulauncher.  Come up with some type of standard way to do this and it could be incorporated for other emulators.
