Offtopic

What Do You Mean ??

I'm saying...

That statement... and its grammar... reminds me of someone who always mistakenly demanded the same kind of thing ungreatfully and this is a new name with only 7 posts.

I also found it funny that immediately after I asked this, I got the following PM:

"helo Hopeful;)

no no mate for the tread its not me dydy and G-King is not me ok!!....I do not speak any more in this forum i look only okay smile.gif

sincerely

dydy

its not me here its G-King...and G-King its not me sorry;)"

And then your post followed that shortly.

That's a lot of coincidences... But, I do hope that I'm wrong and that's not you, because that would be far too silly for reality to process.

Zsnes Build 9/04/06

+ BSZelda works again (with issues, see below)
+ Super Punch Out - transparancies now work (disable new graphics engine)
+ Kirby's Dreamland 3 - option menu freeze fixed (but was still playable before)

- BSZelda - slowdown
- Super Bomberman 2 - slowdown
- Other games reportedly suffer from same slowdown bug
- Chrono Trigger - fights are plagued by flashing
- Star Fox 2 - it's still 50% too fast and may also freeze or flicker
- Ranma 1/2 - random freezes

I would also like to request the ability to choose where all the folders are saved (ini, cheats, etc), I tried to hexedit the paths but was unable to get it to boot afterwords, having this implemented would make it much easier.

If hacking my port is your idea of motivating me to add a new feature, then I suggest a new idea. Most developers hate it (me included) when people open up their work in a hex editor and start making "alternate" versions.

If you want a new feature, then request it.

The day I see a hacked version of ZsnexBox floating around the internet, is the day ZsnexBox stops development permanently.

Let's be realistic though, all he did was was try to change the directories.  I personally wouldn't consider that hacking.

It is hacking. However, I wasn't trying to sound harsh or negative towards him. I've just seen all the "special edition" xport emulators recently. Maybe it doesn't bother Xport, but I wouldn't like it at all. I don't care what people do with ZsnexBox for their own use. However, when people do something cool, like add support for new games, or add features, they tend to release it. It's disrespectfull towards the authors if they are still developing it. It's in the same category as leaking betas. On the other hand, If the author has stopped working on it, then I think it's fair game.

People have complained about not being able to set the path for previews, saves, etc... And seeing all the Xports hacks recently, I thought this was a good opportunity to let the scene know where I stand on this (just in case). But realisticlly, it be pretty tuff to hack ZsnexBox to change the paths. Not saying it's impossible, but most of the information is not stored as strings.

I meant no harm towards your development whatsoever, I was trying to change the paths for personal use, and had no intention of posting it on the internet, sorry if I have offended you. It's just that I would like to have everything organized in the same fashion and Zsnexbox  and a few other things are the only things remaining out of place.
Thanks for all of the hard work, keep it up.
I truly am sorry.

You didn't offend me. I think I just poorly worded my response.

Trying to play Killer Instinct on the current version doesn't seem to work.  The music plays, but there is no video.

I have been gone for a few weeks though, which caused me to skip over a couple of versions.  Perhaps there's something that I'm missing here?

Nes, I'm not sure if you would be able to, given how your rewind system seems to be based on incrimental savestates, but I was wondering if you could tweak it so rewinding would instead smoothly reverse gameplay at the speed of gameplay?

The only way to do that would be to take a savestate 60 times a second during all of the emulation. And then load them 60 times a second in reverse order. It could be done, but I would imagine that would kill performance.
