Hey Famine,
Just one suggestion!
Why not break your rom list into 'lettered directories'?
This is the best option for the majority of the rom collectors!

Regards,
C.

to be honest, i prefer the way the Xport emu's handle this. just pressing the left or right DPAD will skip to a new letter. and the L/R scrolling is awesome too... this def should make it into the next version!

Did you ever read my idea of having a snes music player so that in menus and stuff you could play snes soundtracks and/or being able to play the music from the game select screen as an option. There is an awesome emulator nes emulator on the dreamcast that has this feature.
It's really  nice when selecting a game you can browse the box art, cartridge,  instruction manual, or music library for each game. Ofcourse this isn't important now just tweaking the emulator will be but it would be cool to have some sort of special feature that sets your emulator apart from other xbox emulators. Not that it needs it cause it's amazing already and has some new features never seen, Just some ideas to play around with.

i love this idea. i think every emu should have this feature.

Awesome work. Zsnexbox plays everything I ask it to without a hitch.

I ran into a little oddity with Znexbox the other day, though. When the app was released, I took the opportunity to finally finish Yoshi's Island. I played the whole game in HQ2x, and it maintained a steady 60fps the whole time. I was very impressed. However, after changing my dashboard from XBMC to evolutionx, suddenly it started stuttering all over the place, 45-50 fps.

I changed everything back the way it was, but I still can't get it back to the old speed? What's going on here? I'm pretty sure it was HQ2x and not anything else...

I can't speak from a programming standpoint, but I'm pretty sure dashboards shouldn't have anything to do with it. The dashboard only loads the .xbe, and once it's loaded it's kind of like the dashboard doesn't exist anymore because the xbox can only run one application at a time.

nice work nes6502, I appreciate it.

Do you think it'll be possible to give the interface a little upgrade? In particular: the scrolling.

I haven't found any methods to skip letters, and an analog scroll speed would be quite useful. As it is, the fastest way I've found to get around the menu is to just use the R/L buttons (also L Thumbstick), but these methods are way too slow for a large list.

If there's a way to skip letters, or go way faster in the scrolling, I couldn't find them.

I think he has tried this before but said that it would be too hard to implement and that it would require some serious screwing around.

I see what you mean. Yosh's Island should be 60FPS with HQ2X everywhere except the title screen and a a few other spots. I'll look into this.

Thx great work! Still waiting for the option to specify the screenshots directory like in the xport emus so I can include this emu in my installer.

Great work nes6502.  Thank you for adding the graphics packs.  I will test this out tonight and give a report on Far East of Eden Zero.  And just as you mentioned about Star Ocean, the game does work without graphic packs.  Awesome!!!

Yeah I just started playing the english translated Star Ocean rom yesterday (DeJap).. great game.
Please DO NOT use savestates with Star Ocean only native saves. The game crashes randomly if using savestates (DeJap'ed version that is, dunno about the unmodified Japanese rom).

blink.gif  I yet see some problems with this emulator: I cant get to pass the zoom map screen from Actraiser2 (unplayable), the punch sound effects from Final Fight game are way different from the original, and the same for the Dracula XX's whip sound effects....that's all for now ph34r.gif

You're not going to see any fixes emulation wise until nes6502 implements multicore support in v3.0.

Just to follow up on this, because I don't you to waste your time: I've case-modded the hell out of my box, so I'm a little worried that a hardware problem might be causing this. Does anybody reading this know of any hardware problems that might cause slowdowns in games? That said, Xbox games don't show any slowdown.

Also, are there any .ini s or anything I might try deleting? I already got the ones at the root of E: (I think that's where they were), are there any others?

No, it happens to me too. I havn't changed anything with ZSNES or the hq2x code in several releases. I beleive this is an issue caused by Visual Studio in compiling/optimizing. I don't know, and may never be able to solve this. However, the only games I ever found that would run at 60FPS with HQ2X were SMW and SMW2. SMW still runs 60FPS. It just seems SMW2 doesn't anymore. But it still runs the same speed with all the other filters.

EXCELLENT work on this! Zsnexbox kicks the crap out of xsnesx98 for framerate, stability, audio... everything.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If it's too difficult to implement letter skipping in the menu selection, would it be a tremendous amount of trouble to have a "favorites" list? 800+ roms take a while to scroll thru.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Just organize your roms into different folders. I have mine organized from A-Z and it's a lot more efficient than dumping them all into one, big folder.
