This is by design. I wanted there to be a way for the user to reset the GU if they messed things up too bad. If you are going to switch skins frequently, the easist thing to do is load a skin. Make all the changes you want. Then exit ZsnexBox. Copy the ZsnexBox25.ini into that skin folder and rename it to Zelda.ini or Metroid.ini.

This is what I do, so when i change skins, I don't have to set everything up again. The default skin settings are how things look perfect on my TV. A standard 480i 4:3 tv.

Does anyone else wish that Zsnexbox had a favorites folder like the Xport emulators do, maybe with the option of going to that favorites folder on launch as well.

I love Zsnexbox as much as anyone else, but it makes it much easier for my kids to use emulators on my box when it automatically goes to a list of games they are familiar with.  I like having a wider collection of games at my disposal, but the kids.. well some people know how it is.. (at least I hope I'm not the only one here with kids)

I know it's kind of nitpicky, but hey, if the only problem I have with the emulator is the lack of a favorites folder... smile.gif

nes6502, thanks for bringing the best windows SNES emulator to the Xbox.. you are a God amongst men..

Why not just put the games your kids are familiar with in the roms folder. It allways starts looking in D:\roms unless you change this in the ini. Then when you play you can browse to another folder that has all the games if you wanted to.

Or even better, just make a folder called "other" in the roms folder. Put all the favorite games in the roms folder and put everything else in this sub folder. It will allways start showing the favorites, and all the others are easilly accesable in the sub folder.

any chance in adding support for more than 15 lines of cheat codes? or is this already supported and i'm missing something? if so i will move this post to the appropriate forum. thanks

Are you really going to use more than 15 PAR + 15 GG + 15 cheat search?

That's 45 codes per game available.

But, to answer your question, no. I'm not adding support for anymore.

The only way to make this any better is to add smb support!

if you allow me to spare nes6502 a reply, since it's in the faq : no, not gonna happen.

You can smack me if this is a dumb-assed question, but does Zsnexbox support 7zip archives?

All of my ROMs are in 7zip archives at 1.7 GB, and I dont wanna unpack them, as they take up a whopping 17 GB at that point and all my box has is a 40GB HDD.

EDIT - Nevermind, just saw the FAQ.

That sucks though. sad.gif Guess I'll have to extract them all and just run them off of DVDs.

In reality, how many of those 5000+ roms in the goodset you downloaded do you think you'll play? Do you really need 27 different versions of Zelda 3? After all, all you'll really ever use is probablly the (U)! or (E)version. Think about it. If played one game a day until you had played all the games in that set, it would take you over 14 years to get through them all.

Also, half of that goodset is overdumps and bad dumps which (with are exception) are virtually useless.

If you took out all the US ones, the handfull of quality E and J ones that din't get to the US, along with all the translated ones and good hacks, you'd only have about 800MB of roms.

If you went one step further and filtered out all the crap US games (there's a lot of them), you'd reduce the total US set down to around 150 games. The total set now would be around 300-350 MB

thx for the good work on ZSNESXbox!

Feature Request:
I want to have the selected Rom in the middle of the list, not on the top. So that there are 5 above and 5 below the selected Rom. Then it´s easier to navigate through the roms.

I see where you are going, but the FAQ says...
Which implies (to me at least!) that if a need can be shown, he might just do it!

In my case, for example, I have two xboxes, 3 PCs and a arcade box (basically another PC) that all run emulation and having to have seperate copies of the roms in many places is a waste of space (mamedox doesn't do smb either!).

I would really like to be able to have all my roms in a single location and just access them when needed!

As the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained! I just think it would be a useful feature!

Maybe you should turn your attention to the EmuLauncher script for xbmc. They've shown interest in adding this in there in-development v2, by having the SMB support in xbmc cache a local copy of whatever rom you selected, and then boot it with command line lauching in the appropriate emu.

It's just that the same requests for SMB support have appeared 2-3 times in every single release thread since the beginning, so i think everyone is aware of how it might be useful by now.

SMB is never going to happen. It's still network programming which I hate doing. It also means I would have to buy a long crossover cable to even test it.

So I would have to spend money so that I can write code that I despise to implement a feature that I would never use.

That's why it'll never happen.

just a thought: think you might ever add an option for descriptions for the save states somewhere? y'know how you might be coming back to an rpg like chrono trigger after a long break, and you have chrono, ayla, and frog, and you're in 600 a.d. and you're wondering, "where the hell do i go now?"

maybe just to be able to put in a line like "to magus tower" would be great. if it's something that's a pain, forget it, but if it's relatively simple to throw in, i think it would help a lot of people that play non-linear games to remember where they were headed.

Awsome emulator. Great work on so many updates!

I am trying to burn this to cd, that is not being a problem.
I want all my previews on the DVD also, but it seems to be reading them from my E: drive

Is there a place in an .ini to change this?  (Because I can't find one)

Thanks!!

Hello its me again but im not here for help. I've read in a ealyer realse there was light gun support. I was hoping you could add options to bind butttions for a light gun. I love to play snes super scope 6 but i cant realy play it because i try using the buttions and they dont work the trigger does shoot but all the others dont work. I think it would be nice too have a setup for it in the controlers menu.

Ive also got another idea is there a way to add a filter to the rom listing like you could hit Y and a dialog come up where you could choose like usa (U) or Good Checksums (!) this would help me out a decent bit also but the emulator runs alsome.

keep up the fantasic support.

Well i got my idea's out
