Delete the extra garbage at the end of the SkinPath=Zelda portion of the Zelda.ini before running the emulator. Also delete any previous ZsnexBox24.ini. That will fix the problem.

The Zelda.ini has some garbage at the end of it which is why this happens. It will be fixed in the next release. As far as the volume goes, I doubt it. This is controlled by ZSNES itself. Are you sure you don't have it turned down with the right analog stick in the in game emulation?

one thing, it appears that the very first time you boot up the emulator, it doesn't even use the Zelda.ini, as i edited the Zelda.ini to have "SkinPath=Metroid" and it still went to the Zelda skin.

anyway, i had edited the Zelda.ini to "SkinPath=Zelda" after the first signs of trouble, and deleted ZsnexBox24.ini (which will make the skin load like normal only once), but nothing has stopped it from having the white (skinless) screen after loading it a second time or trying to load a different screen (either Zelda or Metroid). I've even tried deleting the entire Zelda skin and renaming the Metroid skin to Zelda (also the Metroid.ini to Zelda.ini) and loading the Metroid skin. the Metroid skin loads up fine the first time, but then the same problems when i try to load the skin again or boot up the emulator again.

it's a 7zip spanned archive. you need all the parts.

Then why are all 3 parts exactly the same, and i only installed part 3 of ZsnexBox and it works fine?

Can you try this exactly (every step matters)

Delete/Rename your ZsnexBox folder on E/F/G
Open up the Zelda.ini in Notepad (not Wordpad or Word) from the archive you've downloaded. Not one you've made any changes to on you Xbox
Delete everything (that includes whitespace and blank lines) after the Skinpath=Zelda (including the garbage after the word "Zelda" on the same line.
Hit return so that there is only one blank line after the "Skinpath=Zelda" line

Now copy te ZsnexBox folder to your Xbox.
Run it
It will create the ZsnexBox folder on E along with the default ZsnexBox24.ini
Change the skin to Metroid
Exit
Restart and see if the problem is fixed.

If it is not fixed, try changing the partition letter in the Path.ini to F or G and run it again. There may be some issue with your E partition. I don't have this problem even with the garbage at the end of the Zelda.ini. I've also been told by someone else they had no problems either. So, at this point I'm guessing it might be an issue with your E partition. Or the ini files are somehow getting corrupted when you transfer them to your Xbox (that has happened to me many times). Maybe try zipping the archive up first. Transfer it to your Xbox. and unzip it there.

If all of this fails, pm me your email address.

Because your archive program is smart enough to realise it needs to get the other parts from the first two files. It's in 3 files because I can't send an email attachment over 10MB. 2.4 was over 15MB.

Try deleting the first two files and try to extract the third one to see what I mean.

You may or may not need to turn the Digital 5.1 on in your Dashboard. The surround sound works best in games that have it like Tales of Phantasia. In this case turn the ZSNES surround sound off. For other games turn it on. It's not 5.1 surround. It's a 2-channel surround simulation ZSNES does. You are more likely to hear sweeping sounds in your front 3 speakers then the rear ones.

You should be ok for the most part (likely 100% ok all the time) with regular previews (256x244) and the high res ones ZsnexBox generates (512x448) and still keep perfect performance.

Fantastic, thanks for the info!  Just installed 2.4, and it just ROCKS!  If you're accepting donations pls let us know.

I think I "might" have figured out what could be causing the skins to not load after exiting/restarting. I say "might" because I've yet to have this happen to me, but I found out why the garbage was put at the end of the ini. Hopefully that fix will solve this issue as well.

Ive tryed the Ver 2.0-.2.4 now and a  few before that but eery time i try to load a rom my xbox freezes up it just sits at the rom browser. Im running the Emu in E:\emus my roms are in f:\roms\SNES\ they are also all ziped. I'M also softmoded and running xbmc as my Dash also my xbox is a ver 1.1. I didnt know if you needed to know this but the more info the better.   But I've tryed to change my settings and unzip my roms but it doesnt help.  But untill i figure this out i quess I'll use zsnes.

The Path.ini should say:

f:\roms\SNES

and not

f:\roms\SNES\

That's your problem.

Hmm, It would be nice if that were in a readme somewhere. Sorry if it is and I just missed it, but I did look! I didn't have a clue why it came in three parts either until I saw this thread.
