Nes,

I don't know if this has been covered previously or not, or if it's even posible - But is there any way to get Zsnexbox to work in conjunction with RelaX?  I just set up RelaX for use with my XPort emulators so I could share my ROMs from my PC, saving me some much needed space on my Xbox HDD.

And if there is no way now, is there any plan for doing this in the future?

This has been mentioned millions of times, and doofuses keep crawling out of the woodwork about it without reading previous threads. This is a ridiculously tiny gain, especially with the tiny size of NES roms, so it's kind of ridiculous to even want it. The network programming is extremely aggrivating and the feature is retarded and you barely gain anything. There's nearly limitless space for roms even on a 40 GB drive, and that's a tiny HD. If you have a stock hard drive you can burn a rom DVD. Nes does not want to undergo network programming for such a tiny gain because it's very aggrivating and the feature is dumb/pointless. I've answered this for him because he's answered it so many times.

Well, I apologize for not being able to find it.  The search function here doesn't work that great, and although I've been reading most of the posts regarding Zsnesbox, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

And you'll also notice you didn't have to answer, since Nes did answer my question, and he did it in a very nice way.

I do appreciate being called a "doofus" though, and not an asshole or a prick like most would resort to saying in most thread where somehting like this would happen.  smile.gif

That's one thing I like about the Xbox-Scene forums. People are nice. Sure, sometimes people get aggitated and make a smart reply, but overall people are very patient and helpfull. If you want something to compare it with, head over to the ZSNES forums. They absolutly destroy anyone that remotely agitates them (and then lock their topic). You won't find that on these forums.

Don't worry about asking the question. I am very patient because even I wouldn't want to read through the hundreds of ZsnexBox posts to look for an answer if I was a new user. I guess I should update the FAQ and include it with (or in) the emulator.

^^^^ True.  Then again it doesn't take hours of configuring to get this working though.

It would be cool if you add an menu for the favourite roms. It's very boring to scroll to the complete rom set every time I search for a special game

What you should get, is a sticky thread FAQ you have permanent edit permissions to ;\

If xmugen deserves it, i can't see why zsnexbox doesn't.

Well, remember a couple of months ago when we had like 6 sticky threads?  The forum just looked cluttered.  VampX then took it upon himself to write the Great Xbox Answer Thread to replace all the stickies (they are all linked inside).  I liked the idea so I stickied the Answer Thread and and unstickied all the others except XMugen.

So why does XMugen get a sticky?  I'll explain...  First, this isn't even the proper forum for XMugen since it isn't even an emulator.  It also doesn't really fit well into the other forums either.   It runs on Linux, but doesn't really belong there since that forum is more about running the various *nix distros and not so much about running apps on top of those OS's.  The best fit is probably the Homebrew/Ported game forum, but technically it truly isn't either one of those either.

But which ever admin posts under the name "XBox-Scene" is the one that originally posted the news items about XMugen in this forum.  So the power that be at X-S themselves placed it here.  The main thing XMigen has going for it here is that fact that most of the people who would be interested in an app like XMugen are also part of the Emulator crowd.

But back to my main point... XMugen doesn't fit well anywhere, so one reason it is stickied is so that people new to XMugen can actually find information about it.  They might end up scanning several of the aformentioned forums just trying to find where it goes and hopefully they will spot the sticky.  Also, as frustrating as repetitious questions about Zsnexbox may be, XMugen is still easily 10X more complicated and frustrating to use.  Even if we had a sticky about Zsnexbox we would still be getting the questions because some people just ignore the stickies anyway.  The Zsnexbox FAQ is linked in the Answer Thread, so people just aren't looking.  Again, XMugen isn't linked in the Answer Thread because it's not an emulator and even people that read stickies might not think to look there.

As for why nes6502 doesn't have editing rights... believe me, I've tried.  I don't have the power to grant editing rights and I've tried on a couple of different occasions to request that nes6503 be granted editing rights and they have been simply ignored  sad.gif   The power that be are very reluctant to grant editing rights because you can't grant rights to to a single thread; if edit rights are given that person has edit rights to all their posts.  And even though I've explained that I thought nes6502 was trustworthy, I was still ignored.  BTW, guybird also doesn't have edit rights to the XMugen FAQ either even though I've made the same requests on his behalf.

Well, the edit rights are not really a big deal. It would be nice to be able to edit the FAQ, but in the end, a mod can do it for me. Thanks for asking though.

Yeah, thraxen is right. Even if it's stickied with flashing lights and butter melting on top of it, people are still gonna skip it.

Best i guess is just for the community to keep answering questions that are obvious / that nes already answered. The urge to mock people mercilessly does gets hard =]

let's get going.

There is no need to post once a day, your post from yesterday is still there for all to see.
This is also something that has been requested many times.
It may or may not happen. nes6502's suggestion was to simply use a separate folder for your favorites and make copies. with snes roms being a maximum of 6mb uncompressed, this isn't a big deal.
Not to mention you can do autolaunch to some of your favorites with unleashx or xbmc now that the emulator supports command line.
