How do I know if it is mednafen-nes?

Because that would be what you downloaded (mednafenx-nes.zip) and it would say it on almost every screen of the emulator.

There is no "Duck Hunt" emulator. There is a NEs emulator that emulates all NEs games (including Duck Hunt). The best one is mednafenx-nes

There used to be a light gun compatability list but it was a bit of a mess. there has to be a simple solution that is compatible with all emus for christs sake.

I recommend the MadCatz Blaster it works great with the 3 or 4 xbox games that use the gun and works great with xSnes9X with the super scope games and FCE Ultra X (MedafenX NES I havent tried but knowing Xport and his great skills at programing it too works great.) I would try to stay away from those no name xbox guns like the Boss Battle gun from Yobo and a few other HK made guns.  Also Im not sure, but Xport may have lightgun support for MekaX the SMS/GG emu and the SMS Lightgun games (again not sure)
