Any hope of SMB network share access? HD space is rather tight for me, so I prefer to keep most of my roms off the X-Box in general.

Can you PLEASE add an option to specify where the cache files are saved?

I don't want them on the E partition.

BTW, great app. It keeps getting better and better.

nes, i'm sure you've probably already been asked this but where are the screenshots saved/stored at?  And can you use these screenshots as previews (like how all of xports emu's do)?

Thanks again........

nes6502 said in the 1.8 thread this (and netplay) is very very unlikely of being added (at least by him)

Yes nice work nes6502 but question.. bug and glitch in some games is corrected in this version 1.9 ?..thanks for the infos and keep the good work mate

Wich "bug and glitch in some games" ? if you don't specifiy what games, where, and how to reproduce, there's nothing anyone can do about it.

also, read the first post. These are all gui and functionality updates, not related to the zsnes core.
If said problems also happen in ZSNES WIP 2-28-05 on windows, there's nothing nes6502 can do about it until he decides to implement multi-core support.

I figured they would have to be in the 'prev' folder in Znesxbox on the E: drive, but for some reason i could not get the screenshots to show up.

Well, i figured out the problem.  I previously only tried taking screenshots on two of my favorite games; CastleVania 4, and Super Metroid.  The problem is both of the roms of these two games i had file extensions were capitalized, and not in lower case.  For some reason if your roms file extensions are all capitalized the screenshots will not show up.  Wierd, i know.  So i went through all the roms i had an changed the file extensions to lower case, and now it works perfecty.  Also, i've never had this problem on any of the other emu's i used, so it must be a bug in znesxbox.

But man, the hi-res screenshots look great!

What resolutions did NTSC snes games run in? I'm trying to set the screen size, but it just seems wrong all the time. Is there any diffrence in resolution between NTSC and PAL60? I'm really crappy at this =)

EDIT: Btw. Great release. Thanks!

Most games run at 256*224 but there are also games that run at 256*240 and even 256*480 (secret of mana menu). NTSC and PAL should be the same resolution, both have 480 horizontal lines.

I run zsnexbox at:
X: -1.719999
Y:0.36
Width: 642.339996
Height: 480.36

As you can see the height minus Y is exactly 480. This way each snes line will match a line on your tv which results in a sharper picture.

The width is up to yourself. I just stretched untill the picture filled my screen. Keep in mind that not every tv is the same and the aspect ratio may be slightly different due to overscan.

Does anyone know a good game to get the right aspect ratio? I'm looking for a game where the width of a circle is altered to be perfectly round on a 4:3 tv. In other words when the circle is 40 pixels high the width should be 256/4*224/3 = 34 pixels. When stretched on the tv it should be a circle again, where the width and height are the same. Something like that  unsure.gif

im really enjoying this emulator, goodbye snes9x!

some simple-ish features i think would be good:

- sensitive analogue menu scrolling (at the moment scrolls same speed however soft/hard you press triggers or stick)

- ability to disable the menu scrolling noise

- changable menu music

- when saving states, asking you to select state to save to, with a small menu showing which ones are used/unused (maybe even with a screenshot) this would avoid accidentally saving over a previous state

keep up the 'great' work
