point FBA-XXX to the mame roms folder..how do you do that ..i got mameox128plus..& the new fbaxxxpro 1.17...i dont want to split the roms..was wondering if it can read off the ones in the mame folders

If the MAME roms folder is: F:\MAME\ROMS

Then open the fbaxxx.ini and change one of the  "szAppRomPaths" like this:

szAppRomPaths[1] F:\MAME\ROMS\

when you say ini..do you mean teh ini folder in teh fbaxxx emulator..if so it's empty

Run the emulator once. It will create the fbaxxx.ini in the ini folder. Then you can change the rom path.

Start the emulator
Press X to open the options menu.
Select "Exit FBA-XXX Pro" (this causes the ini to be written)

i tried..on my ftp it freezes & i tried it straight on the xbox by going to my files & it won't let me

maybe i am typing it wrong..here's an example of the ini...

..now how should it look like so it will go into mame

Won't let you what? I don't understand.

Copy all the files from the fbaxxxpro.zip (or whatever it is called) to your Xbox. Run the default.xbe. Exit the emulator. Then ftp to your Xbox. Get the newly created fbaxxx.ini from your Xbox. Edit it. Then ftp it back to the fbaxxx\ini folder. Or you can edit it on the Xbox if you use a dashboard that has a text editor (like UnleashX).


The file is named: fbaxxx.ini. Open it in a text editor (like Notepad). You don't create this file or rename it. FBAXXX creates it and you edit it.

thats what i am getting when i open it with note pad..i dunno why it shows d: when all my emulators are in f:

"d:" is a relative path.  It's defined as the emulator's install directory.  

So, for example, if you had your emulator here:

F:\Emulators\FBAXXX\

d:\roms\ would be the same as this:

F:\Emulators\FBAXXX\roms\


For any path outside the install directory just use the normal path (F:, E:, or whatever).

It doesn't matter which one you change. You can change all of them and have 8 different rom paths.
