Trying to get previews to work; I read the faq's and i think im doing everything right but it won't let me view my previews.
This is how it looks /F/Emulators/Super Nintendo/prev/
path.ini looks like
F:\Roms
SavePartition=E

The previews should be in:

E:\ZsnexBox\prev or F:\ZsnexBox\prev or G:\ZsnexBox\prev  depending on what the savePartiton is set to.

I have my emulators in F, folder  Emulators, inside that is the ZsnexBox folder with the files and previews. Is that what you mean by save partition? This is how it looks like F/Emulators/ZsnexBox/prev
Do you think the folder Emulators is the reason why it's not working?

You are confused, read nes' post and the documentation and this faq, the previews do not go in the folder wheres you xbox executable is, they go in E:\ZsnexBox\prev (or F or G)

You can only change the partition with SavePartition=, not the whole path

so my path.ini should look like this?
F:\Emulators\ZsnexBox\Roms
SavePartition=F

I have properly installed Zsnexbox on my Box, and it runs fine when I start the program... However, when I go to load up a rom, NO FILES APPEAR! I search my directories, and point it to where I have all my SNES roms stored, and nothing appears. However with XboyAdvanced, it sees the files.

I have never successfully run a game on the ZsneX but I have been trying to figure out the problem for a few weeks now. Any ideas?

Do your ROMS have the proper file extensions (.smc, .fig) or are they zipped?

Sounds like your roms either have no extensions or are in 7z format. They should either be zipped up or have a standard SNES extensions like: smc, sfc, usa, jap, swc, etc...

If they have no extension, then the easiest thing to do is just zip them all up.

Hi, i just got into x-box modding and tried out two snes emulators already. zsnes is the one that is the most satisfying.
But something is unnerving me, saving doesn't work it seems.

I tried to play donkey kong country 3 on both emulators and saved after playing some levels. but when i reboot the games later there is no save file! anyone know what i'am doing wrong?

The first thing you should try is making sure you don't just turn off the console in the middle of playing a game on Zsnexbox(and most, if not all other emulators). The emulator doesn't save the SRAM of a game until you exit out of it. Safest bet is to exit the game(you know to press the right thumbstick for the menu while you're playing, right? tongue.gif) and then exit out of the emulator completely BEFORE you turn off your Xbox.

If that's not your problem, then maybe someone here who has more knowledge than I can help smile.gif

Top Gear 3000 is still not running well with the latest version of Zsnexbox. When the emulator first came out years ago, the game would freeze as soon as the first race would start. With the latest release of the emulator, the game can be played, but not without major seizures. The colors change/flicker at an extremely fast pace. What's so special about Top Gear 3000? Why does Zsnexbox can't make it work? It works perfectly fine with Zsnes.

Zsnexbox uses an old rendering core. New cores introduced better comatibility. The current Zsnes can also run "Aim for the ace" and "Starfox 2", whereas zsnexbox' rendering core can not.

It's a version issue and since nes said he was going to tone down development, I pretty much assume we won't see a more recent rendering core in zsnexbox. It's sad, but ZSnexbox is still a great emulator.
