Congrats on your sound tweak successes, nes6502.

No rush, but I was wondering if you're planning on adding 'simple2x' and 'soften display' in a future release.

Is soften display a texture setting? There is no reference to soften display in the XDK documentation.

nes - I don't remember the exact call off the top of my head but it's a member of IDirect3DDevice8 and I think it's something like SetSoftDisplayFilter(BOOL) - where you pass TRUE if you want it enabled (the default) or FALSE to turn it off

This emulator is very picky about controllers! I've tried with numerous roms and different controller configurations and it will only work if I've only got an official MS controller in port 1, can't get a second controller to work for 2 player games!

Did you try unplugging all devices from controller ports 3 and 4 before starting the emulator? You also cannot remove/plug in controllers once the emulator is started.

There is no player 2 supported yet.

Actually I'm not. I developed this by myself. However, when I had it running on the Xbox I posted a message on the ZSNES message boards asking about specific things I couldn't figure out .pagefault then offered to help me with any issues. He has provided me with a tremendous amount of help, but we didn't develop this together.

Well ZsnexBox certainly has a long way to go, but with time I hope it turns into a highly polished emulator. You might want to wait until the 1.2 release because there will be screen resize/move. It should be out today or tommorrow.

I certainly agree. xSnes9x is a fantastic emulator. In fact, if the gui had been a little more customizable I would have never even done this port because everything else was near perfect.

Agreed.

The XSnes9x GUI was its main problem.  Xports GUI's, on the other hand, are godly.

Get the 1.0 files first (3 files)
Unpack them all and copy to your Xbox
Unpack the 1.1 upgrade file and copy them to the same directory where the 1.0 files are
It will still say 1.0 (ignore that) when you run the emulator

Put only roms in the roms folder (ideally 17 or more). No subfolders
For best results unplug any controllers in the player 2-4 ports on your Xbox
Use a standard MS controller

Run the default.xbe
Pick a game
Thats it.

This did the trick for me, the reason I felt it was an unofficial controller issue was the fact that I initially had an official controller plugged into port 3 - I unplugged it and moved it to port 1, fixing the issue and giving me the idea that it was a problem with the controller itself.

That looks like it should help.  Thanks Carcharius.

Now it'd be nice to see Xport get involved with this emulator. Help nes with a gui that resembles his. Heck, Instead of just helping with a kickass GUI, He can import the features that comes with his emulators as well (A Code Generator would be godly).  biggrin.gif
