Hey Gogo, do you have any plans to add network support to FBA-XXX?

@The_Fuzileiro: I once had that problem too because I was trying to put my roms in separate directories, which SurrealXXX does not support (at least not on disc).  Just dump them all in the roms directory and get a program called, "Craxtion 4" to create the ISO.  It's as simple as that.  Oh, and you can just Google search for Craxtion 4; it's easy to find.

No no no no..... you understood wrong... sorry I should express myself better...
I put all my roms in the same directorie ( D:/Roms/ ) but, I read a day, in a site... that the emulator was programed to read "D:" like "A:"...

The problem is that the Surreal XXX detect all the roms, but it can't make them run... Do you understand now?

Only freakdave can resolve this... or someone who have it working on dvd decide to help us...

Thank's for try to help-me friend!

hello i am new to this surreal xxx 64 and i am using the latest updat 4.95 i think its an awsome emulator for xbox, but i have been having trouble getting some of the games working like resident evil 2 and majora's maks, with majora's all i get is sound but all it shows it a black and pink screen, what can i do to get it working? and what can i do to get resident evil 2 working good?im not really sure what dynarec and paging mem do for both 1964 and porject64,i have some good roms on the surreal 64xxx-4.95 i just need to know how to make them run good can someone help me on that?iv been doing everything to make the roms run good but they skip and sometimes slow, how can i slow the roms from running so slow? sleep.gif

resident evil 2 can't even be emulated by pc n64 emu's. best bet is to get the psx version, pcsxbox emulates it pretty well.

benpretend that is simply not true. The PC version of Project64 can emulate Resident Evil 2 decently well.

Don't know if anyone's said yet, but Shadows Of The Empire looks much better with the new Rice pluggin - only played the first level this morning and it looked right smile.gif I was wishing the pluggin would fix the mult-coloured snow wink.gif Good job!

isn't it well known by everyone that 1964 is dead and project 64 is not giving out source code anymore?

don't expect any n64 emulator improvements unless this situation changes.

@ The_Fuzileiro: Hmmm, not sure what's going on then.  I burned it to DVD and it's worked fine for me.  Hope someone here can help you out.  Good luck to you.

Ok... then can you tell me how your surreal.ini was configurate? Are the media and the roms like D:? or A:?
What did you do to burn the emulator on dvd? Did you only edit the surreal.ini and make an .iso image right?
Or did you do something more?
Thank you again!

Fuzileiro, maybe this ongoing problem (I remember your initial post) has something to do with your region?  Most development and testing is going on on North American and European region XBoxes...no idea what differences actually exist between different "regions" of XBoxen, or what region Brasil is, or if this could ever make a difference...but maybe someone else will?

Funny story about that...P64 and 1964 both weren't updated in about the same amount of time (~1.5 years).  Just a year ago, P64 v1.6 was released and development picked up.  So even though it is dormant (~2.5 years for 1964), that means nothing.  Hell, even FCEUltra is alive and kicking again.

yes... it means something.  the project 64 team is not giving out source code.  the only thing surreal needs is a better project64 base.  sadly it won't happen.

one thing i am looking at is the mupen64 codebase.  they have the most recent publicly released code (August of 2005).

Yeah, I've been spamming mupen64 for awhile now, but I was told by somebody that it wasn't fast enough to work on the Xbox, and they are probably right, which is a bummer, since mupen is indeed a very nice emulator.

I don't see why people are so quick to believe secondhand information when it's to the effect of "that's impossible".  So often it is not so.  Mupen64 runs different games to different degrees based on the speed of one's processor.  Given that it's heralded as the most portable emulator ever, working on anything that employs SDL and OpenGL, it would be a nice addition to Surreal's emulator choices.  Someone do it immediately, and rework Surreal's core while you're in there.

Hello "Jonh", so... my concole is a North  American Xbox. Here in Brazil we have only North American xboxes. Besides, I really think this isn't the problem.
Thank's!

The edit button seems to have gone the way of the dodo, but I looked at the mupen manual, and it recommends at least a 600 Mhz processor and 64 MB of RAM, both of which the Xbox meets.  So a port is technically possible
