I always thought xSnes9x was near perfect.
I agree. For most games most or all or the time xSnes9x is perfect. I don't intend this emulator to be a replacement for xSnes9x. Of course, I am going to try and make it as user friendly and feature rich as xSnes9x. Presonally, I allways wanted a non transparent larger screenshot preview. That was probabbly my main motivation for developing this port initially. I also have allways liked Zsnes more. I would bet there are plenty of people that would like a good port of Zsnes. Even if this isn't the case, it'll offer another option for compatability's sake.
Another main motivation is the correct speed for Starfox. There will be (not sure how long after version 1.0) at least one alternate "Star Fox" edition. The current Zsnes code emulates Star fox too fast as well. However the 11/05 (?) release emulates it correctly. I may also release a 1.42 edition because it was the last stable official release.
There will likely be 3 versions.
1) A stable 1.42 version (that will only be updated with a new stable release of 1.43)
2) A "Star Fox" version that will be a one time release and never updated.
3) A WIP version that will be updated often.
