Hi Folks

Found great help here so far. Finally i got my FF9 working again for my kids (and me for sure wink.gif) w/o the origin console. But some questions i still got:

Running the PAL Version of FFIX on pscxbox_v19
set all settings as suggested in earlier posts

This is the newest but is this the best version for running ff9?

Still got the following issues while playing the game so far:
- white character in world mode
- sound slows/fasten up a little bit by entering/leaving character menues and after battles too

I could live with these issues but any fixes would be welcome wink.gif

Second question, is it somehow possible to make the analogstick of my psx-controller work for ffix?

Thanks 4 help

pcsxbox v18

cant do nothing about the slow menu speeds in ffix but guess what i just lucked up on 3 secs ago?

was playing around downloading different configs for intelligent qube because i cant use my controller,
figure the dls were universal and knew i needed ff running at least as good as it was last night b4 the lady gets home

now my settings are:

core 1.6
gpu 1.16
spu 1.9

oldframe skipping and frame limit on

ff9 movie fix on

sound timer threaded

THROTTLE METHOD IS FIXED!!!!!

now loading memory card fails every once in awhile but trying it again usually works it out
BUT
when i load my save to the world map
I CAN SEE MY MAIN CHARACTER WALKING NO WHITE GHOST JUST GOOD OL PBDLISH (she named him)

and i can use my left and right triggers to rotate the maps view (could only use left trigger at first)
controller is set to dualshock

dont know if its permanent or if it'll mess sumn else up later but figured i'd put it out here since erybody's been so helpful

THANKS

Even using the settings suggested on the first page of this thread? That's odd, I had the same problem, and those fixed it for me.

Hello.

I have a problem with last boss from ff8. i have tried that :
QUOTE
Anyway, I was able to fix the problem, if anyone else is having the same problem, follow these steps:

1) Turn ON 'Use CPU Interpreter' in 'Set CPU Fixes' (press X before you load the game) before you start the game and enter the battle... the battle is going to run slow and a bit choppy but just live with it..

2) After you get past the point where the game freezes, create a save state.

3) Reload the save state with the "Use CPU Interpreter" OFF and it should run fine from there.

but it helps only with Vysage, Lefty, Righty and Gargantua; the gf from still ultimencia doesnt show, only freezes when it leaves the ground. Please help, I tried almost everything, from emu change(1.4, 1.6 and 1.9) to bios change ( I used scph7502), but it still has this freaky bug. Please help good will people. Setings set standard :
core 1.6
gpu 1.16
spu 1.9
old frame skipping and framelimit on.
THX in advance

benpretend you legend!! Your settings for FFVII are perfect. The default settings juttered the sound and graphics, now you even have the twirl into the fight working, which i thought I would never see on the xbox. Well done and kudos. Thanks for making my favorite game playable again!

The only thing is the graphics filter, I had it set to something other than "none" when I started it which messed up the image and wouldn't make the game play. Set graphics filter to none and you should be set (its the best viewing setting anyway)

You would have to be from Cork boy! XD

So I'm going to be using these settings for FF7 and FF9. Now the PCSxBox v20 is out, are there any other better settings to either?

QUOTE
FF7

BIOS Mode: BIOS File
Core Version: 1.4
GPU: 1.16
SPU: 1.9
Graphics Fixes: All OFF except for Old Frame Skipping ON and Framelimit ON
CPU Fixes: All OFF. I haven't noticed any difference with any of them ON.
SPU Fixes: XA Sound On. Reverb: Best/Slowest. Interpolation: Cubic/Slow. Sound Timer: Original. Wait CPU: Off.
Throttle Method: Fixed.

FF9

here are the settings i used on v13.

Unmap Throttle

1. Load up PCSXBOX
2. Once the main menu loads up click Configuration
3. Click Controller configuration
4. Click Controller 1
5. Click Change Joypad Mappings
6. Click Change UI Mappings
7. Scroll to Fast Forward / Throttle and press A
8. A new window pops up and says REMAP at the top, just wait till it goes back to the UI MAPPINGS window and the Throttle Will Be Now Unmapped

Set Bios file

1. From the main menu, click Select Game
2. Then Highlight your FF9 disc one image and press X
3. The first item in the list will be BIOS Mode, make sure it is set on BIOS FILE

Graphics Fixes

While still on the same menu as BIOS MODE
1. Scroll down to Set Graphics Fixes
2. Now set everything as follows.

Odd/Even Bit Hack ON
Expand Screen Width OFF
Ignore Black Brightness Color OFF
Disable Coord Check OFF
Use Low Res FPS Timer OFF
Use PC FPS Calculation OFF
Lazy Screen Updates OFF
Use Old Frame Skipping ON
Dark Forces Fix OFF
Frameskip OFF
Framelimit ON
Bit Depth 16

CPU Fixes

Press B to come out of Graphics Fixes
1. Click on Set CPU Fixes
2. Set everything to OFF except FF9 Movie Fix

Press B to leave that menu
Then B again to load your game

Hi,
I've tried everything to play FF7 on PCSXbox v18
I have tried a couple of versions of both PAL and NTSC with the recommended settings
I can get to the first menu but when I choose "new game", the loading never ends
but it doesn't actually bug, I mean I can still reset the XBOX with "L+R+start+back" and I can still access the emulator menu and exit the game.
Can someone please help me,
tell me what I should do, give me a website where I download ISOs that will actually work, anything, please

When I launched FFVII using v20 my console froze so I imagine I'll have to update the settings, which led me here.

Is the second post in this thread still up to date? Finally dug out my old Xbox last night and want to play some old school FF.
