Final Fantasy Tactics
SPU 1.9
GPU 1.16
Core 1.6

Im having a strange issue with my sound freaking out and glitching and random points such end of dialouges and what not

also

when anyone uses a special attack, such as stasis sword, the fps drops about 40 and starts to lag

any ideas?

For all u FF9 NTSC people i am not sure what settings you need to run it but as for the pal versions
everything works perfectly if you use the correct settings, i played the game from disc one right through to the end with no problems what so ever.

here are the settings i used on v13.

Unmap Throttle

1. Load up PCSXBOX
2. Once the main menu loads up click Configuration
3. Click Controller configuration
4. Click Controller 1
5. Click Change Joypad Mappings
6. Click Change UI Mappings
7. Scroll to Fast Forward / Throttle and press A
8. A new window pops up and says REMAP at the top, just wait till it goes back to the UI MAPPINGS window and the Throttle Will Be Now Unmapped

Set Bios file

1. From the main menu, click Select Game
2. Then Highlight your FF9 disc one image and press X
3. The first item in the list will be BIOS Mode, make sure it is set on BIOS FILE

Graphics Fixes

While still on the same menu as BIOS MODE
1. Scroll down to Set Graphics Fixes
2. Now set everything as follows.

Odd/Even Bit Hack  ON
Expand Screen Width  OFF
Ignore Black Brightness Color  OFF
Disable Coord Check  OFF
Use Low Res FPS Timer  OFF
Use PC FPS Calculation  OFF
Lazy Screen Updates  OFF
Use Old Frame Skipping  ON
Dark Forces Fix  OFF
Frameskip  OFF
Framelimit  ON
Bit Depth  16

CPU Fixes

Press B to come out of Graphics Fixes
1. Click on Set CPU Fixes
2. Set everything to OFF except FF9 Movie Fix

Press B to leave that menu
Then B again to load your game

everything should work fine now

the only problem that i have is that the game runs a bit slow when using the menus / saving game other than that everything runs fine.

make sure, when in battle holding X hides the ATB bar at the bottom which increases the performance of the battle, use this method when performing magic to keep the effects from slowing the game down.

hope this helps some of you

No, it doesn't work because it's protected.
Patch your iso with a ppf patch found at www.ngemu.com

My problem with FF9 is the really annoying flashing battle menus (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Anyone found a fix for that?

thank you, you helped me a lot!!  smile.gif

Now i got the next Problem:
The game was running perfectly until now. But now it just stops at a scene in Lindblum (CD1):
I'm going up to the tower of the castle to meet the princess. A FMV should appear now. Instead the screen becomes black and the game stops (cant use a xbox-reset by pressing select+start+l+r either!) !!  sad.gif  sad.gif

Please help me! Its like a nightmare... I played the Game so far now and it just stops! Cant be true!!!  ohmy.gif

(by the way: i'm missing a crying smilie for this forum!)

Hey I was just wondering.. you don't have a flickering battle menu? When I start ff9.. And that first fake-battle starts the battle menu there flickers like hell @ mine! Gives me a headache :S
If you don't have that, what settings ru using!
I think my version is ntsc though.. maybe that's the difference..
By the way the intro FMV does work? Sounds a bit like a bad iso. try that particular scene on a pc emulator n check if that happens there too.. (think pcsx @ pc has same savegame files so u can just copy it over)
Hope we can help eachother (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Game: FF IX
pcsxbox v 1.1? (came with the xecuter dash)

this game's givin me greif. everything but the battle menus work fine (part from running a bit slow, cant complain bout that). i only get the flashy menus when iv got more than 1 person in the party. apart from the flashyness, im unable to see any of the other menus in battle e.g. i cant see the spell or item menus. its so very annoying as i dont think im guna be able to get very far on it lol. ill be very gratefull if someone can give me a hand. im not entirely sure if its NTSC or PAL cos it never said on the download. tho looking back at a previous reply its probably NTSC.

I haven't played it all the way through yet, and I'm hoping there are no nasty suprises, but I finally got Final Fantasy Tactics running on my XBox thanks to some people who posted on this thread.  I can't remember who put that information there, but I just wanted to say thanks for figuring this out.  Tactics is probably my favorite game for PSX of all time.

How on earth did you get around the save/load bug????? I have that sound glitch too, but not being able to save is a MUCH bigger problem!

Hi, I have a problem with FF VI. The game locks up every time I kill an enemy. It started in operahouse and if I kill any enemy it locks up. I'm using v.18 pcsxbox and these fixes Old Frameskip On, Frameskip Off, Sound Timer Method - Original.
