drumstyx:

Its a button that allows you to accelerate pcsxbox (among most other xport based emulator ports) to make the game go faster if you want to skip a particular scene quickly (temporarily sets the framerate very high in other words). Its under controller settings, whichever controller it is, and keyboard settings, ui settings, and fast/throttle (or something like that). If you need the instructions precise, tell me and i'll explain it better, but its not that hard to find so you shouldnt have any problems.

georaldc:

I agree that its a good idea, but I dont like that you cant edit those fixes (unless I'm just blind to the menu option for it) without deleting the config files.

aha i did it!....those curly letters are hard on the eyes :-p...but now i have another question...R2/3 and L2/3...are we doomed to live without them? i see emulator definitions under controller configuration...but all it gives me is "emu button 1" = "cross"....now obviously i know emu button 1 is A because X=A in the emu.....but as for buttons 6 and 8...what are they?....in other words...how do i know what all these mean???

Why? Doesn't the emulator allow you to press 'X' when choosing your games to edit the settings?

Correct me if I'm wrong here guys but I think that the controller plugin used in pcsxbox doesn't support the dualshock controller (which explains the emulator not having analog control + L3/R3)

ahhh understandable then...so lets say i use epsxe on gentoox....will linux recognize the joy pad as just that....a joy pad? with rumble support? or will it see it as a mouse? which is how it acts in the OS itself...last but not least...to keep this thread on topic....is analog and L3/R3 support needed for ff7/8/9?
thanx

I'm not sure about the linux thing. The FF games don't need a dual shock as far as I know. I already beated FF8 on it with little to no problems. I'm also already near the end of FF7, and reached the 3rd disc of ff9 using the emulator.

Final Fantasy VII -  Bios, everything OFF except framelimit and old frameskip, unmap throttle too. Your choice to turn lazy screen updates ON or OFF. Both have differnet effects its best to see which one you like better. Everything else seems to run pretty good -deathx88

Always take a look at vampx's great emulation answer thread sticky. Links that answer almost every emulation-related question can be found there.

ah OLD framskip.....i think the xport database of pcsx configs needs to be fixed up....cos thats where i got my config from...although....theres still a bit of a glitch near the bottom right hand corner when the battle cursor for the enemy is active....im assuming this is unavoidable....i dont mind it...just a bit of a perfectionist (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

the glitch is right over top of the Cl of clouds name....just for reference

Yeah, I think that glitch is unavoidable. It's even much more worse if you have lazy screen updates enabled, since it becomes a tiny box/screen of whoever the cursor is pointed at

I saw that you had to change some frameskip options to get the battle cursor to show up in final fantasy 7, but i can't find where these options are in the menu to change them. if it helps i have it set to load the most recent state when i select the .bin file from the select screen. Any help is appreciated

I'm having a problem with FF8.  Right after the opening FMV is done it flashes some stuff and then goes to a white screen and locks up the xbox.  Has this happened to any one else or did I get a bad disc when I copied it on my pc?  I changed all the appropriate settings also.
