Version:  PCSXbox v13
Game:    Final Fantasy VII, NTSC

I've been totally unsuccesful loading this game.  I've applied every configuration setting properly (everything's off except framelimit and old frameskip, I unmapped the throttle on all controllers.)  I have SCPH1001.bin in the emulator's bios folder (is that correct?  anything else I gotta do with that?)  I've tried running an .iso file and .bin/.cue.  All I get is the loading screen, indefinitely.  Help, anyone???

First, make sure you don't have any software filter applied. Also, have you tried running the image on a pc emulator? Maybe the iso is busted.

Hi, I can't get Final Fantasy VIII working with V18 of PCSXBOX, unless i set filter to none.
But my Game is NTSC(Slus-00892), i used the following configuration and didn't work

CODE
BIOS MODE
Framskip :OFF
Old frameskip: ON
Lazy screen updates: ON
Throttle: Unmapped

i tried everything additional to that and failed.

The only Option to get it to work with v18 is setting Graphic filters to: NONE
And i don't understand very well because this is for PAL only, and my gamem is NTSC. Please some one
Help, Thanks

Why dont you just set filter to none?
Besides the obvious, usually you have to start the games without filters and then change it in the menu once it has loaded

Anyone have any tips for swapping to the 2nd disc of Final Fantasy VII (FF7)?

I get to the screen where it asks whether I want to save, then I either save or not (doesn't matter which) and it goes to a black screen and locks.  I tried loading disc 2 directly but it doesn't show any saves available.

I'm using the standard settings as listed in the Compatability thread list.

Ideas?

It should go to a screen where you can press right click and select new disc image or something.

Thanks for the reply.  For some reason, it never went to that screen ("Insert Disc 2") but instead went blank.  I finally just downloaded a PSX emu for my PC, transferred my save over, got to disc 2, then transferred my save back to the xbox and started back up with Disc 2.

Yes thats a good way, but what you were doing wrong was, that you must press the right click, for in-game menu options of the emulator right when you're asked for the 2nd disc, once in the menu, go to load new image  and select the second image and return to the game, if you have the image on a separated disk, then, eject the one you using and, enter the the one containing the 2nd disk image and wait for the xbox to read it, then re-access the dvd-rom to use the image of the 2nd disc, then return to the game as normally and press x, or whatever it should work fine. it's very simple, it just get used to.

Loading the save file in disc 2 should work. Why wouldn't it see any saves?

EDIT:
I think the problem is because all games have they're own mem cards now (thats what happens in my pcsxbox version). You could just recopy the memcard file from disc1 and put it on disc 2's save folder. Selecting a new disc image through the GUI automatically carries over your previous settings and memory card I believe.

I have an entirely different problem with FFIX, I have tried playing it on my computer using ePSXe and on my Xbox with v. 13 of PCSXBOX. When I am in a battle the enemy begins to cast a magic spell and he kind of freezes and continues to do the motions that he usually does during the spell. Nothing happens, I am able to control the camera and the battle menu, the music continues and the attack bar fills up, I chose to attack and absolutely nothing happens. Just a close-up of the enemy doing the erratic motions and a bar above his head saying "thundaga" or the name of another spell. This has happened before, but after rebooting and reloading the game works again. But now in a specific place I get this "freeze" all the time.

I have that problem (the bolded).

I looked through this thread, and there is one area that mentions it, I believe, but doesn't solve it.

It seems that the targeting per character is in the lower left of the screen, and the graphical image changes when you change targets, but you can't tell who it is.  Is there a way to make the graphical image (or the original cursor) appear over the target's head so we know who we are hitting?
