I have just started to use this emulator, and I updated to v13.

I have used all of the settings that have been meantioned here, but I can only seem to get FF7 and FF8 to run in HLE mode, and not BIOS.

The games load fine but FF7 locks up as soon as you get to the first battle with the guards as soon as you get off the train.

FF8 has not loacked up on me, but I am not able to save it.

Can someone help point me in the right direction on these two problems?

Thanks

try using a different bios file and make sure its named properly. HLE mode will prevent you from saving properly and bring with it many other problems.

Well penny, it only happens on the place with the mist...general area in the beginning. I haven't played this game in about 3 years so I don't know locations...or anything for that matter. Everywhere else I've been (Sunny, desert looking) has loaded chars up fine... But the whiteness does get to me. But I want to play this game too bad so I don't let it bother me biggrin.gif

Yeah, well I figured that much, but how would it have got changed, why would it be changed, just seemed like a solution to a problem that would not be there.

I have the proper bios, it is installed properlty, but yet the games will still only run in HLE.

the clearly you DONT have the right bios. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) get a proper working copy and then it will work fine.

Hello.

I was wondering if about fixing the Final Fantasy Tactics freeze.

What if you're using sPSXe and your game freezes in Arguay Woods when just about anyone uses a Skill other than normal attacks, how can you fix that?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found out the solution. If anyone else encounters something like this, just hit Escape, and then hit continue running the game. It should continue animating. At least I hope...

hmmm, i'm scouring my joypad looking for an 'escape' button, but i can't seem to find it...

if you have designs for a custom qwerty joypad, please feel free to share the schematics so we can all join in the fun...

if, on the other hand, you're playing this on a PC, i haven't the slightest clue why you're posting that 'fix' here...

Make sure your game is NTSC. Where it says "BIOS Mode" make sure its on "Bios file" and follow the rest of the directions on page 1.

JakeNBake350:

Those options are only available the first time you load the game. It's stupid i know. It wont let you edit game fixes or cpu fixes for that game unless you delete the config file for that game. Load up a file manager or use ftp (filemanager is more reliable) and go under the SAVES folder (probably on E or F drive) and go under pcsxbox. Find the game's files and delete the .key and .stg files for that game. Load back up pcsxbox and you should be presented with a window with a few options whenever you load up the game again. Hope this helps.

StormCroc:

You are in an XBOX forum not a PC forum. I'm pretty sure epsxe is not on xbox (though i wish it was) and i'm also pretty sure there is no escape key on the xbox controller.

Actually got a question as well. FFIX slows down during spellcasting scenes for me. Is there any fix for this?

Its not stupid because all you have to do is press 'X' when choosing a game dry.gif . Man, I always wonder why a lot of people don't know about how to change the emulation/cpu settings the 2nd time around. It is only available the first time so that once you get your settings down, you wouldn't have to worry about that particular menu screen to pop up again after choosing the game.

As for the FF9 slowdown, I believe the xbox just isn't fast enough to emulate it properly. What I do in all FF games is to set the battle camera to static, so that it wouldn't zoom in and slow down as much when casting spells or attacking.
