FBA-xxx Pro v1.07-- Posted by XanTium on February 16 12:16 EST
+ T + released a new version of FBA-xxx Pro. What's new/fixed:
* Updated supported bootleg sets based on the latest information. (thanks to Ferchogtx)
* The following sets have been added: ms4boot, ms5boot, kof2k1bl, kf2k1pls, kf2k1pla, kf2k2spr, kf2k2plb, kf2k3exa
* No more corrupted graphics in ms4plus, ms5plus, kf2k2mp, and kf2k2mp2.
* Removed unobtainable mslug5 M ROM. (game runs fine without it)
* Added encrypted M ROMs to decrypted C sets. (this is correct for these sets since ideally only the C ROMs should be decrypted)

Download: n/a (built with XDK)

Are we ever going to see Samba support added to this application (MameOx style)?
That's the only reason I don't use Final Burn as much as MameOx, no one wants to stick 10 gigs of mame roms on their xbox HDD.

I'm the opposite.  I stick all my ROMS on the XBox HDD and never use samba shares because I don't want to have to make sure my PC is on just to play some games on my XBox.

Yeah no one DOESN'T want to have 10 gigs of MAME ROMs on their XBox hard drive.  I'm going to have a meltdown when I realize I can't fit every PSX and Sega CD and TG-16 CD ISO on my drive along with all ROMs.  Thraxen, get up in X-Port's forum and bask in his return, he requires wise suggestions.

The Romsets/Dats seem to be a little messed up... In RomCenter... one of the Kof 2004 roms is listed under Zupapa!... I think I saw anther rom somewhere else two that was out of place...

Yup, the kf2k3exa ROM is listed there.  That confused me at first.  I knew he added support for that ROM, but I couldn't find in the list.  I finally started looking under all the ROMS that were yellow in the list until I found it.  I'll make sure +T+ knows.

v1.08 is out now and the DAT is fixed.

What's up with the new M1D ROMs though?

I can't even find any mention of those CRCs anywhere nevermind patches to actually get them.  blink.gif

God, 1.08 already?? Jeez. I love continual emu updates, but daily releases are rediculous.  Is there honestly any difference between this version and 1.07?  I'd love to "yet again" grab the absolute latest same day new rom releases, but this pace is impossible to keep up with.  I don't want to load on 1.08 now, only to have 1.09 out tomorrow.  Unless there's some kind of noticable upgrade, can we at least let some roms accumulate and wait a week for the sake of sanity??

Well here's the list of what's changed. Judge for yourself.

FBA-XXX Pro v1.08
=============

- Updated decrypted M ROMs to most recent versions.

- Re-added mslug5 encrypted M ROM. (a fake is now available with the correct CRC. This should  suffice until the real one is released)

- The following sets have been added:
  kf10thua
  kf97plsa
  kf2k4spl

- And the following PD games:
  Frog Feast
  Jonas Indiana and the Temple of Ra

- Fixed AES mode in nitd/nitdd

- Some other minor updates and corrections.

- Re-added the ROMlist counter by request and updated default skin to incorporate this.

- Fixed some irregularities in the DATs.

I seem to recall the author saying when FBA-XXX Pro was only being released in patch form that one of the reasons he didn't want to release it officially was because his preferred way of working was to go through periods of updating very frequently and people were bound to bitch about it. Looks like he was right.

Incidentally, nobody's forcing you to update. If you have a version you're happy with then stick with it and upgrade to the latest whenever you feel is appropriate.

Personally I like being able to report a bug one day knowing that a fixed build will probably be out the next.

Now how did I just know that you were going to pipe in with your usual idiotic backlash?  I don't think I've ever heard a word out of your mouth not ripping someone or something.  You're not above anyone else here.  You think I posted a stupid rant?  A stupid rant is more like asking Xport for a fix for Pokemon on the Gameboy Color.  Do you actually play that?  Don't you do anything else besides hang out in these forums and test every disk and rom ever created?  Where do you even get the time to bug test 24/7?  Don't you have a job?  A boyfriend?  A life?

Hey! be nice to the girl with the hot looking picture in her logo.  We should be greatful if anyone can spare any time to help out with any open source public run development (especially some one who looks so hot in her picture).

Yes, I think complaining that an emulator is updated too frequently is stupid.

No, that's being useful by reporting bugs that XPort might (and was) interested in fixing. And yes, I do play that game. I love Pokemon-based games.

I don't test, I play. And I play alot of ROMs because I find most modern games sadly lacking in enjoyable gameplay.

I'll presume that's rhetorical since it fits in with the overall 'ripping' manner of your post.

Aww, I get so many insults on an account of my avatar being a pic of me, it's nice to be complemented for a change. Thankies. happy.gif

If I have anything to do with this by poking fun at Likklebaer and VampX for vehemently claiming X-Port would never return right before he did, and ManaByte subsquently jumping on my mockings as serious in those threads...then I find it hilarious smile.gif  Seriously dude, choose your battles.
