alg5, i would like some more feedback on how your exactly your creating a cd/dvd compilation of mugen. you were not exactly clear how you are mastering a disc of it. i tried using nero and using the udf/iso option and enabling xbox filesystem support. doesnt work, it keeps asking me for a bootdisc. it has to be a rockridge type of filesystem that linux/cromwell reads. so now i tried using mkisofs with the parameters "-r -J -udf -o mugen.iso". now it works but it gets stuck at this message:

"Boot: Loading kernel '/mugen/bzImage'..."

im using your newest irdloop.gz and bzImage. any advice what else needs to be edited to get it to boot correctly?

ps: here is a link to the package i made: http://rapidshare.de...xmugen.rar.html

to anybody who will use it, you need to extract the rar to your C:/ drive and it will create c:/xboxmugen. just copy all the data into "datafiles" folder and run the bat file and wait for it to create the iso.

from  your rar, i succeed to create a CD Xmugen-linux be renaming the ird-loop.gz to irdloop.gz, bzImage to bzimage (note the lower case) and modifying linuxboot.cfg to the according new names

try, it should work.i'm not sure both renaming are needed

The triggers "press" the button on the way down and on the way up. Which is a big prob imo.
Other then that it's great.

if i remember, if you press the trigger, it will press the corresponding K/button.
you would like the opposite ?

Gentoox boots up, scans the disc right away and then asks to insert a boot disc.

you need to burn the CD in UDF (to boot gentoox) AND in ISO format (gentoox only know to read iso CD/DVD)

with nero and mkisofs you can make a CD with both format

i know how to make xmugen
behave like mvc with tagging.

i got 6 charactersi worked on
but it was a pain in the butt.

i want to ask before i show the xmugen
community how to do it.

if i gave the needed instructions
can we make a auto script
to add  this t characters?

you can do it manuly by compy pasting to characters
the needed information to the cmd files, cns, and air.
but for the noobs i want to make this easier.

so far i converted :
superman, batman , wonder woman, ryuDG, cable by my buddy Cloudius,
guileggn, sf3 chinli and finally pots ryu who i have yet to make it work 100% for.

it's exactly like mvc2 with jumping in and out. you can use assist with the other character,
and you can do double team moves.

this is really worth it seeing how it added a new dimention to xmugen.

i have all the modded files you need and when you tag out and the cumputer is fighting you can take over but pressing the cntrl key.

what do you all think?

auto scripting for the noobs

i can do the character manually cause it will give  you
controll of how you want you character to tag in.
you'd choose the animation for a punch or kick entry.

An autoscript would be awesome, especially for people with something like the ultimate xmugen pack, or tons of chars otherwise.  I think most people would prefer a "kick in" in the autoscript, like with mvc.  Would it be possible to automatically take controll of the character that switched in also? Instead of having to hit ctrl (those of us without keyboards on x-box)

Also, any advice on the error I posted?

OK i finally got the thing to boot off a dvd, past the gentoox window, using mkisofs and burininig it with nero (thanks ang for pointing out that the bizimage needed to be lower cased as well, doh!). However, now when it loads up the bios screen, it stops after recongnizing what contorllers are plugeed in (after the line where it says "static/ash: can't access tty:job control turned off". I am using a s contrtoller as well. PLeas can someone (ang) tell me what do i have to do? thanks smile.gif

X_Brolly_X get JbOnE's app to make an pointer xbe.
Download it off of teamuix's site here.
You can use it to point to the xbe where ever it is and you can put it in any folder. Pretty simple to understand and it'll allow you to make your own Xmugen logo.

Alg5 I'm not sure what you mean. When I press the R or L trigger the kick or punch works, but if I hold the trigger down, then release it, it'll punch or kick again. Which totally screws up combos and can leave you open for attacks and all types of problems. What I'd want is for the punch or kick to ONLY work when the trigger is pressed and not when the trigger is released.

Also I have noticed a serious problem. I tried editing the button layout in Xmugen. If you try to map out either trigger or the black or white button, 0 (or O I can't tell) instantly fills all of the remaining buttons.

I am not sure if editing the buttons in Xmugen cuased the crash, but after I tried editing the buttons, I exited back to the main menu and pressed up. Xmugen instantly crashed.

Alg5, is there a way that you can include a read out of all of the keys you can list in the mugen.cfg file the next time you release a joy2key. This way if someone wants F2 or CTRL mapped to a certain button they can. I would like a joy2key where Black and White are free to be mapped independantly from the left and right triggers.

Please join #Xmugen on efnet. R1sky, C-PiMP, Stig87, me, and other people are on talking about Xmugen.

heh, i was trying so many things to make the dvd/cd thing to work that i had overlooked the renaming problem sad.gif

alexlexus: its a hassle to get the tag stuff working. all the [statedef] needs to be modified in all the characters you want to use with tagging.

Well, that will be usefull when I can get the darn thing working in the first place, but I was refering to this error:

mounting root filesystem of type: ext2.
Adding Swap: 242776k swapspace (priority -1)
hdah: bad access: block=0, count=1
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:38 (hda), sector 0
mount: mounting /dev/hda56 on /cdrom failed: invalid argument
kernel panic: attempted to kill init!

I tried using the new Xmugen-linuxb3 by itself, without anything from Guybird's ultimate pack. Same error.

How does this tag team mode work?

Do you select two characters in team battle to be tag team, or do you have to write in the .def what your partner will be? I.E say in Ryu's def his partner will be Ken.
